Match Your Certifications to Life Time's Requirements
Life Time Instructor roles typically require discipline-specific credentials like ACE, NASM, AFAA, or aquatics certifications. Having these in hand before applying signals job-readiness and reduces employer hesitation around sponsoring a non-citizen candidate.
Target Locations With Active Instructor Openings
Life Time operates clubs across dozens of states, but hiring volume for Instructors shifts by region and season. Concentrating your search on markets with multiple open roles improves your odds of reaching a hiring manager with sponsorship authority.
Understand the EB-3 PERM Process for This Role
Instructor positions can qualify for EB-3 sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, where Life Time must demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available. Roles tied to specialized disciplines or underserved locations tend to move through PERM recruitment more cleanly.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Instructor Roles by Visa Type
Not every Life Time Instructor opening will lead to sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to search and filter Life Time postings by visa category, so you are only applying to roles where the sponsorship pathway aligns with your current immigration status.
Raise Sponsorship Directly Once You Have an Offer
Once Life Time extends an offer for an Instructor role, confirm the visa pathway before signing anything. Ask the recruiting contact which categories the company has previously sponsored and what the internal approval process looks like for filing with USCIS or initiating PERM.

Find Instructor at Life Time JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Life Time sponsor H-1B visas for Instructors?
Life Time's primary sponsorship activity for Instructor roles has centered on employment-based Green Card categories like EB-2 and EB-3, not H-1B. Instructor positions in fitness and recreation are generally classified as skilled trades rather than specialty occupations under USCIS standards, which makes H-1B a difficult fit for most coaching and group exercise roles. If H-1B sponsorship matters to you, confirm the role's classification directly with the hiring team before advancing.
Which visa types are commonly used for Instructor roles at Life Time?
The most common pathways for Instructor roles at Life Time are F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for current students, and EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based Green Card sponsorship for longer-term candidates. OPT and CPT let you start working while building your track record with the company, and EB-3 through PERM labor certification is the more typical route for a permanent sponsorship outcome at this job level.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Instructor roles at Life Time?
Life Time typically expects Instructors to hold nationally recognized certifications relevant to their discipline, such as NASM or ACE for personal training, USA Swimming or Red Cross credentials for aquatics, and AFAA or Les Mills qualifications for group fitness. Prior teaching or coaching experience in a club, studio, or recreational setting strengthens your application. Some roles also require current CPR and AED certification as a baseline condition of employment.
How do I apply for Instructor jobs at Life Time?
You can browse open Instructor positions directly on Life Time's careers site or use Migrate Mate to filter Life Time postings by visa sponsorship type, which helps you identify roles where your immigration status is a match before you apply. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific discipline and include your active certifications prominently. Following up with the hiring manager at your target club location can also shorten the response time for roles with immediate openings.
How do I navigate the timeline if Life Time agrees to sponsor my Green Card?
EB-3 sponsorship through Life Time starts with PERM labor certification at the Department of Labor, which can take six months to over a year depending on audit activity and recruitment documentation. Once PERM is approved, Life Time files an I-140 petition with USCIS. If your priority date is current under the Visa Bulletin, you can then file for adjustment of status. The full process commonly spans two to four years, so starting early in your employment matters.
