Frame credentials around McDonald's project verticals
McDonald's staffs Project Managers across technology transformation, restaurant construction, and supply chain. Tailor your resume to one of these verticals, aligning your delivery experience to the scale and complexity of a global QSR operation.
Target Chicago-based postings first
The majority of McDonald's corporate Project Manager roles are based at its Chicago headquarters. Prioritizing these postings increases your odds of reaching a hiring team with an active immigration program and established USCIS filing infrastructure.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship roles
McDonald's posts Project Manager openings across multiple channels, but not all list sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for McDonald's roles that have a documented sponsorship track record for your visa type.
Clarify your OPT or TN timeline during the offer stage
If you're on F-1 OPT, your STEM extension or cap-gap window directly affects when an H-1B petition must be filed. Raise your current status and authorization end date early in offer negotiations so McDonald's legal team can confirm the filing timeline.
Understand how PERM fits a Project Manager profile
For Green Card sponsorship via EB-2 or EB-3, McDonald's must run a PERM labor certification through DOL. Project Manager roles typically require a defined degree and experience threshold, so confirm your credentials meet the minimum requirements before the employer initiates the process.
Prepare a PMP or equivalent credential before applying
McDonald's Project Manager job postings frequently reference PMP certification or equivalent structured methodology experience. Holding this credential before you apply strengthens both your candidacy and the employer's case for sponsorship under specialty occupation standards.

Find Project Manager at McDonald's JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does McDonald's sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
Yes, McDonald's sponsors H-1B visas for Project Manager roles, particularly those based at its corporate headquarters in Chicago. Project Management qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards when the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. Because H-1B is subject to an annual lottery, timing your application and securing an offer well before the April registration window is essential.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at McDonald's?
Applications go through McDonald's careers portal at jobs.mcdonalds.com, where Project Manager postings are listed by department and location. Filtering by corporate or technology roles surfaces the positions most likely to support sponsorship. You can also browse and track McDonald's Project Manager openings with confirmed sponsorship history through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles filtered by visa type.
Which visa types does McDonald's commonly use for Project Manager roles?
McDonald's uses H-1B most frequently for corporate Project Manager hires requiring long-term sponsorship. F-1 OPT and CPT are supported for eligible candidates in the earlier stages of their career, and TN status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Project Manager roles. Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 is available for employees transitioning from nonimmigrant status after establishing tenure.
What qualifications does McDonald's expect for sponsored Project Manager roles?
McDonald's typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, information technology, engineering, or a related field for Project Manager positions. PMP certification or demonstrated experience with structured delivery frameworks such as Agile or waterfall is commonly listed. Roles in technology transformation or restaurant development often require five or more years of relevant project experience and familiarity with large, cross-functional programs.
How do I plan my timeline if McDonald's is sponsoring my H-1B?
H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date, so you need an offer in place well before March. If you're currently on OPT, your cap-gap protection may allow you to continue working through the transition period. McDonald's immigration counsel manages USCIS filings directly, but confirming your current status expiration date at the offer stage ensures the legal team can file without gaps in your work authorization.
