Frame Your CRO Leadership Experience Precisely
Medpace evaluates COO candidates on deep contract research organization expertise, not general executive credentials. Document your experience overseeing clinical trial operations, site management, or regulatory compliance functions explicitly in your resume before applying.
Verify Your Visa Category Fits Executive Roles
COO positions at Medpace typically require employer-filed H-1B or PERM-based Green Card sponsorship. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards before your OPT period expires, since senior operations titles sometimes face additional scrutiny.
Target Open Roles During Medpace Expansion Cycles
Medpace grows headcount in COO-adjacent functions when it adds therapeutic areas or expands its lab services. Watching their careers page for clusters of senior operations postings signals an active hiring cycle where sponsorship conversations are more likely to move forward.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active COO Openings
Visa-sponsored COO roles rarely surface on general job boards with enough detail to evaluate sponsorship eligibility upfront. Use Migrate Mate to filter Medpace openings specifically for sponsored senior operations positions and approach the application process with full visibility into what's available.
Address Sponsorship Directly in Early Interviews
Medpace's talent acquisition team handles senior-level sponsorship through internal HR and outside immigration counsel. Raise your visa status in the first recruiter screen rather than waiting for an offer stage, so the PERM or H-1B timeline can be scoped before compensation negotiations begin.
Build a Credentials File That Supports PERM Advertising
PERM labor certification requires DOL to confirm no qualified U.S. worker was passed over. Prepare a detailed record of your specialized qualifications in clinical research operations that clearly differentiates your profile from a generalist applicant, which strengthens the employer's ability to defend the filing.

Does Medpace sponsor H-1B visas for COOs?
Yes, Medpace sponsors H-1B visas for senior operations roles including COO-level positions. Sponsorship at this level is typically handled through Medpace's internal HR team working alongside outside immigration counsel. Because the H-1B cap lottery applies unless you qualify for a cap-exempt category, timing your application to coincide with the April filing window is important for new sponsors.
Which visa types are commonly used for COO roles at Medpace?
H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa path for senior operations hires at Medpace. F-1 OPT and CPT can bridge candidates early in the process if they're transitioning from graduate-level scientific or business programs. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management categories. For permanent residency, Medpace supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM labor certification, which suits candidates targeting long-term tenure.
What qualifications and experience does Medpace expect for COO roles?
Medpace COO roles require demonstrated leadership within clinical research or contract research organization environments. Expect the job description to emphasize experience managing multi-site clinical trial operations, regulatory compliance oversight, and cross-functional leadership across scientific and administrative teams. A graduate degree in life sciences, business, or a related field is standard. Medpace's therapeutic area specializations, including oncology and metabolic disease, make domain-specific CRO experience a meaningful differentiator.
How do I apply for COO jobs at Medpace?
You can browse current COO openings directly on Medpace's careers portal or use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for visa-sponsored senior operations roles at Medpace in one place. When applying, tailor your materials to highlight clinical trial operational leadership and any direct CRO experience. Senior roles at Medpace move through a structured interview process involving HR screening, functional leadership panels, and sometimes a final executive review before an offer is extended.
How do I plan the timeline for visa sponsorship when pursuing a COO role at Medpace?
Timelines depend heavily on which visa category applies to your situation. H-1B sponsorship tied to the annual cap requires Medpace to register you in the March lottery for an October 1 start, so an offer secured in January or February is often too late for that cycle without cap-exempt alternatives. PERM-based Green Card cases add 12 to 24 months or more before you reach permanent residence. Raise your visa timeline with Medpace's recruiter early so both sides can sequence the process realistically.
