JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Principal (Director), NGTS (Next Gen Trust Security) GTM Strategy to define and lead the strategic vision for our modernized trust infrastructure. Aligned strictly with our Corporate Strategy organization, this role is critical for establishing long-term strategic direction and driving that strategy through to execution, overseeing the transition to tactical, day-to-day business development.
Your primary objective will be developing the comprehensive GTM strategy and orchestrating high-impact sales plays across our NGTS sales specialists. You will work closely with senior leadership to shape the future of our network security offerings, focusing on architectural foundations such as enterprise-wide certificate governance, modern private PKI services, and network-native trust enforcement. This is a high-impact role for a strategic leader who excels at identifying long-term market trends, evaluating organizational strengths and weaknesses, and building comprehensive frameworks that ensure trust is enforced—and governed—directly on the network.
YOUR IMPACT
- Define Strategic Vision: Establish the strategic direction and objectives for the NGTS portfolio, assisting executive leadership in crafting long-term strategic and business development plans, and overseeing the execution of those plans.
- Orchestrate Sales Plays: Develop the core strategy for, and orchestrate, scalable sales plays across NGTS sales specialists. Ensure the field is strategically positioned to communicate the value of inline validation, lifecycle automation, and discovering encryption in motion.
- Market Analysis & Trend Identification: Continuously review industry and market trends related to certificate governance, PKI, and network trust. Analyze and apply this intelligence to develop targeted strategies for specific market segments.
- Identify Strategic Opportunities: Evaluate the firm’s strengths, weaknesses, and overarching business opportunities within the Trust Security landscape, and drive the implementation of recommendations and approaches for long-term strategic and operational improvements.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Lead cross-functional initiatives across Product, Marketing, and Sales Leadership to ensure our core message—that trust enforced on the network requires governance that operates there—is seamlessly integrated into long-range plans and Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) structures.
- Architectural Evolution: Strategize pathways to accelerate our capabilities, ensuring the successful execution of architectural changes that allow customers to evolve algorithms and trust anchors without breaking services.
- Measure & Assess: Assess macro-level metrics to gauge the success of new NGTS strategies, providing data-driven executive recommendations to course-correct or accelerate market penetration.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years relevant experience with required direct experience in top-tier consulting at the Principal / Associate Partner level (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Deloitte) with a focus on enterprise technology or cybersecurity.
- 5+ years of depth in the architectural foundations of Next-Gen Trust Security; possessing a strong strategic understanding of enterprise-wide certificate governance, modern private PKI services, and network-native trust enforcement.
- Top-tier MBA strongly preferred, reflecting the strategic caliber required for this GTM Strategy role.
- Proven track record of defining overarching strategic visions and driving them through to successful execution, moving beyond tactical business development into high-level organizational and corporate strategy.
- Demonstrated success in orchestrating complex sales plays across specialized sales teams and defining long-term strategic roadmaps.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a data-first approach to analyzing market trends, competitive landscapes, and commercial opportunities.
- Strong executive presence with a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams, translate technical capabilities (like inline validation and native visibility) into C-level outcomes, and drive decision-making.
- Strong business acumen: ability to build GTM plans grounded in comprehensive market analysis, identifying competitive strengths/weaknesses, and presenting findings to executive leadership.
- Familiarity with integrating strategic solutions into broad commercial constructs.
- Willingness to travel (up to 30%) as needed to support strategic initiatives, partner alignments, and executive customer engagements.

Frame Your MBA Around Cybersecurity Strategy
Strategy Manager roles at Palo Alto Networks favor candidates who connect business frameworks to security market dynamics. Tailor your resume and portfolio to show go-to-market planning, competitive analysis, or platform consolidation work tied to technology or SaaS contexts.
Confirm Sponsorship Before the Final Interview Round
Palo Alto Networks sponsors multiple visa categories, but individual hiring managers may not know which categories their requisition supports. Ask the recruiter directly which visa types are confirmed for the specific Strategy Manager role, not the company generally.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open Strategy Manager Roles
Not every Strategy Manager posting at Palo Alto Networks is tied to a sponsorship-eligible headcount. Use Migrate Mate to filter roles by visa type so you only spend time on positions that match your authorization status.
Align Your OPT Timeline to Their Hiring Cycle
If you're on F-1 OPT, Palo Alto Networks typically runs structured hiring cycles for strategy roles. Starting the process at least four months before your OPT expiration gives the company enough runway to file an H-1B petition or initiate E-3 paperwork without a gap in your status.
Understand the LCA Filing Step for Your Offer Letter
Before your H-1B or E-3 petition can be filed, your employer must certify a Labor Condition Application with the DOL. Ask HR where the company stands on that step once you receive a verbal offer, since LCA certification adds time before USCIS even sees your petition.
Prepare a Strong Specialty Occupation Case for Strategy Roles
USCIS scrutinizes strategy-titled roles more than engineering positions. Gather documentation showing your degree field directly maps to the theoretical and analytical work in the role description, not just general business experience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Palo Alto Networks sponsor H-1B visas for Strategy Managers?
Yes, Palo Alto Networks sponsors H-1B visas for Strategy Manager roles. Because strategy positions face more USCIS scrutiny than technical roles under the specialty occupation standard, it helps to ensure your job description clearly ties the role to a specific degree field, such as business strategy, economics, or a related discipline, before the petition is filed.
Which visa types are commonly used for Strategy Manager roles at Palo Alto Networks?
H-1B is the most common path for Strategy Manager roles at Palo Alto Networks, but Australian citizens frequently use the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and allows faster processing. TN visa status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying categories. For longer-term authorization, Palo Alto Networks also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for this function.
What qualifications and experience are expected for Strategy Manager roles at Palo Alto Networks?
Most Strategy Manager postings at Palo Alto Networks expect a bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a related field, with an MBA viewed favorably. Relevant experience typically includes corporate strategy, management consulting, or business operations within technology or SaaS companies. Familiarity with cybersecurity market dynamics, competitive positioning, or platform go-to-market work strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How do I apply for Strategy Manager jobs at Palo Alto Networks?
You can browse and apply for Strategy Manager roles at Palo Alto Networks directly through Migrate Mate, which filters positions by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm your eligibility before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to the specific team and strategy focus area listed in the posting, since Palo Alto Networks hires strategy managers across product, corporate development, and go-to-market functions with different requirements.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing a sponsored Strategy Manager role at Palo Alto Networks?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, the annual lottery cap means petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date. That creates a six-month minimum lead time from offer to work authorization. E-3 and TN holders have more flexibility since those visa categories can be initiated without lottery timing, but LCA certification from the DOL still adds two to four weeks before USCIS filing.
