Align your credentials with SEC reporting standards
Piper Sandler operates under SEC and FINRA oversight, so bookkeeping experience tied to investment firm reconciliations, trade settlement records, or broker-dealer financials carries more weight than general accounts payable work. Tailor your resume to reflect that context.
Target Piper Sandler's finance openings year-round
Investment banks like Piper Sandler hire bookkeepers outside the typical H-1B cap season. Use Migrate Mate to filter and monitor Bookkeeper openings at Piper Sandler so you catch postings the moment they go live.
Confirm the role qualifies as a specialty occupation
USCIS requires H-1B roles to meet specialty occupation standards. For a Bookkeeper position at a broker-dealer, frame your background around accounting theory, financial statement preparation, and fund accounting rather than clerical data entry to strengthen the petition.
Ask about the LCA filing during the offer stage
Before H-1B filing begins, Piper Sandler must obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL confirming the offered wage meets the prevailing rate for your location. Clarify with HR which geographic office the role is tied to, since LCA wages are site-specific.
Prepare your educational equivalency documentation early
If your accounting degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation completed before the offer stage. Many investment firms, including those in Piper Sandler's peer group, require USCIS-recognized evaluations to support specialty occupation classification in the H-1B petition.

Find Bookkeeper at Piper Sandler JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Piper Sandler sponsor H-1B visas for Bookkeepers?
Yes, Piper Sandler has a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas for finance and accounting roles, including Bookkeeper positions. Sponsorship is not guaranteed for every opening, so confirming visa support directly with the recruiter during initial outreach is the practical first step before investing time in the application process.
How do I apply for Bookkeeper jobs at Piper Sandler?
Applications go through Piper Sandler's careers portal, where roles are listed by department and location. If you need visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate is the recommended way to browse and track Piper Sandler Bookkeeper openings that are open to H-1B candidates, helping you avoid roles where sponsorship is not available.
Which visa types are commonly used for Bookkeeper roles at Piper Sandler?
The H-1B is the primary work visa used for Bookkeeper hires at investment banks like Piper Sandler, as the role generally meets USCIS specialty occupation requirements when tied to complex financial reporting or broker-dealer accounting. Candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer may also pursue a transfer, which avoids the lottery entirely.
What qualifications does Piper Sandler expect for a sponsored Bookkeeper role?
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field is the baseline for H-1B eligibility. Beyond that, Piper Sandler's investment banking environment typically favors candidates with experience in general ledger management, financial statement preparation, or reconciliation within a regulated financial services firm rather than retail or small-business bookkeeping backgrounds.
How do I plan my timeline for H-1B sponsorship through Piper Sandler?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March each year, with an October 1 start date for approved petitions. If you're on OPT, you need to secure an offer and have your employer file the petition before your authorization lapses. USCIS premium processing, currently 15 business days, is available and often used by financial firms to reduce uncertainty around start dates.
