Quinnipiac University's School of Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time, open-rank, clinical core faculty to develop and serve within the CAPTE accredited Quinnipiac University Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. This full-time 12-month position offers an exceptional opportunity to shape the next generation of physical therapists while advancing your own career in a supportive, innovative academic environment.
In this role you will have a designated scholarly agenda and service responsibilities relative to the strategic plan of the PT Department and aligned with individual interests. Teaching responsibilities include instruction of entry-level DPT students in the orthopedic content area of the curriculum. This position is expected to begin in July 2026.

The School of Health Sciences is home to approximately 100 full-time faculty and professional staff and enrolls over 2120 students across over 22 graduate and undergraduate academic offerings. The school is organized into 7 departments offering undergraduate majors in biomedical sciences, health sciences, radiologic sciences, medical microbiology & Immunology and diagnostic medical sonography and graduate majors in physician assistant studies, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, biomedical sciences, pathologists’ assistant and cardiovascular perfusion. Responsibilities:
- Support the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of Quinnipiac University and the School of Health Sciences, and the PT Department
- Develop, implement, and monitor teaching strategies and course design to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of instruction in meeting departmental and DPT Program accreditation requirements with specific focus in areas of expertise or various assigned courses of the curriculum
- Collaborate with other faculty within orthopedic curriculum to promote excellence
- Cultivate a scholarly agenda related to clinical outcomes, population health, or scholarship of teaching and learning related to area of expertise
- Contribute to the ongoing quality improvement of the DPT Program, Department of Physical Therapy, and School of Health Sciences through balanced workload of teaching, scholarship, and service
- Engage and seek professional development aimed at driving the mission and vision of the DPT Program and PT Department
Education Requirements:
Applicants must hold a minimum of a clinical doctorate DPT from CAPTE accredited program.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Connecticut, an active member of APTA, and have a minimum of 5 years of documented experience as a physical therapist
- Evidence of strong teaching skills and use of instructional technology in area of contemporary expertise
- Evidence of ability to establish a scholarly agenda (e.g., scholarship of application, discovery, integration, or teaching) through peer-reviewed publication, presentations, or ongoing scholarly endeavors
- Commitment to community engagement and professional advocacy through teaching, service, and scholarship
- Contribute to inclusive excellence of the academic community
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds
Preferred qualifications include:
- Post-professional doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc, etc.) awarded by an institution that is accredited by a regional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE). ABD considered with record of teaching, scholarship, and service
- Clinical practice in orthopedic rehabilitation or OCS, SCS designation is highly desired
- Volunteer service to a professional organization which has application to physical therapy
