Job Summary
The TRIO Academic Coordinator is responsible for implementing student success and retention strategies for program participants, by advising, mentoring, and supporting all participants based upon individual student needs, and provides one-on-one coaching for students regarding academic development. The TRIO Academic Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining the Student Access database with documentation to include accurate student records of program services according to university policies and federal regulations. They develop academic support programs to meet the goals and objectives of the TRIO: Student Support Services Program grant.
Authority and Accountability
The TRIO Academic Coordinator reports to the Program Director and supervises 6 student workers. They have no budgetary responsibilities and authority.
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Sociology
- 3 years of related experience w/TRIO Programs
- 2 years of work experience with academic services
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Higher Education, Counseling
- 3 years of related experience w/TRIO Programs
- 3 years of work experience with academic services

The position is a Contingent II, full-time, exempt position.
