Frame Your Credentials Around Facilities Operations
SBM operates in facilities management and outsourced services, so translate your project management experience into that context before applying. Highlight contract coordination, vendor oversight, and multi-site support work on your resume to match their Assistant Project Manager scope.
Confirm the Role Qualifies as a Specialty Occupation
H-1B eligibility requires the position to demand a specific bachelor's degree. For Assistant Project Manager roles, a degree in construction management, business administration, or engineering typically satisfies USCIS requirements. Verify your offer letter reflects the required field before your employer files.
Target Regional Contracts With Active Hiring Cycles
SBM wins government and commercial facilities contracts that trigger regional hiring surges. Search for Assistant Project Manager openings tied to specific contract locations rather than applying to a general corporate listing, since active contracts drive the most urgent sponsorship decisions.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Sponsoring Roles
Filtering job boards for sponsorship-friendly employers is slow and unreliable. Use Migrate Mate to search Assistant Project Manager openings at SBM Management Services directly, so you only apply to roles where visa sponsorship is already part of the hiring process.
Time Your Application Around the H-1B Cap Window
If you're on F-1 OPT, USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start. Apply to SBM roles in the fall or winter so your employer has enough lead time to register you before the annual cap window closes.
Clarify Sponsorship Terms Before Accepting an Offer
Before signing, confirm whether SBM covers filing fees, whether premium processing is available, and which attorney will manage your petition. Getting these details in writing prevents miscommunication once the DOL Labor Condition Application process begins.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does SBM Management Services sponsor H-1B visas for Assistant Project Managers?
Yes, SBM Management Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Assistant Project Managers. The role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines when tied to a degree in a relevant field such as business administration, construction management, or engineering. If you're targeting this role, confirm the specific degree requirement is reflected in the job description before the employer files the Labor Condition Application with the DOL.
How do I apply for Assistant Project Manager jobs at SBM Management Services?
You can browse open Assistant Project Manager positions at SBM Management Services through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where visa sponsorship is supported. When applying, tailor your resume to SBM's facilities management and outsourcing context, emphasizing contract coordination, client site support, and operational oversight. Follow up with the recruiting team to confirm the specific location and whether sponsorship is available for that opening.
Which visa types does SBM Management Services use for Assistant Project Manager roles?
SBM Management Services supports multiple visa pathways for Assistant Project Managers, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visa. F-1 OPT and CPT are commonly used during early-career stages, while H-1B and TN are the standard paths for longer-term employment. Canadian and Mexican nationals in management roles may qualify for TN status under the USMCA without going through the H-1B lottery.
What qualifications does SBM Management Services expect for Assistant Project Manager roles?
SBM typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, construction management, facilities management, or a related field. Practical experience with contract administration, subcontractor coordination, or multi-site operational support strengthens your application significantly. Familiarity with facilities services environments, including janitorial, maintenance, or engineering operations, is an advantage because SBM's contracts are concentrated in those service lines.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for an Assistant Project Manager role at SBM?
If you're on F-1 OPT, start applying to SBM positions at least six months before your OPT expires to allow time for the offer, Labor Condition Application approval at the DOL, and USCIS petition filing. For H-1B, your employer must register you in March for an October 1 start, so securing your offer by late fall or early winter of the prior year is the most reliable approach.
