Tailor your resume to facility operations
SBM's Operations Manager roles center on managing service contracts, frontline teams, and client sites. Highlight experience with workforce scheduling, service-level compliance, and multi-site oversight rather than generic management duties to match what their recruiters screen for.
Verify your status covers early start dates
SBM fills Operations Manager vacancies across active contracts, so start dates can be immediate. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining authorization window covers the full onboarding timeline before applying, since gaps can stall an offer.
Search open Operations Manager roles on Migrate Mate
SBM regularly posts Operations Manager openings across multiple regions. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for SBM positions that align with your visa type, so you're only spending time on roles where sponsorship is a real option.
Raise sponsorship clearly before the offer stage
SBM's recruitment process moves quickly once you reach the offer stage. Ask your recruiter directly whether the specific role and location have budget and HR approval for H-1B or TN sponsorship before negotiating terms, not after.
Align your TN classification to the actual role duties
If you're a Canadian or Mexican national, TN sponsorship is faster than H-1B for this role. Confirm with SBM's HR team that your offered duties map cleanly to a qualifying TN category, since misclassification is a common denial reason at the port of entry.
Prepare a degree equivalency letter in advance
SBM's Operations Manager postings typically require a bachelor's degree. If your credential is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before your interview so there's no delay when USCIS reviews your H-1B petition.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does SBM Management Services sponsor H-1B visas for Operations Managers?
Yes, SBM Management Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Operations Manager roles. Because the company operates large service contracts across the U.S., sponsorship availability can depend on the specific location and contract budget. Confirming sponsorship intent with the hiring manager or recruiter early in the process saves time for both sides.
How do I apply for Operations Manager jobs at SBM Management Services?
Applications go through SBM's careers portal, where Operations Manager roles are listed by region and contract type. You can also find and filter SBM's open Operations Manager positions on Migrate Mate, which lets you sort by visa sponsorship type so you can target roles that match your work authorization before applying.
Which visa types does SBM Management Services commonly use for Operations Manager positions?
SBM has used H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Operations Manager roles. OPT and CPT are practical for recent graduates entering the role directly. TN is an efficient path for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. H-1B is the standard long-term sponsorship route and requires USCIS approval.
What qualifications does SBM Management Services expect for Operations Manager candidates?
SBM typically looks for a bachelor's degree in business, facilities management, or a related field, combined with experience managing service teams or multi-site operations. Familiarity with contract compliance, labor scheduling, and client reporting is consistently emphasized in their job descriptions. Industry certifications in facilities or operations management can strengthen your profile.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship through SBM Management Services?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March for an October 1 start date, so if you receive an offer from SBM outside that window, they'd need to file for the next available cycle or explore cap-exempt options. Build at least six to eight months into your planning from offer to work authorization start, accounting for USCIS processing time.
