Align your HR credentials to facilities industry needs
SBM operates in facility services and outsourcing, so HR Assistants here handle high-volume hourly workforce onboarding and compliance. Frame your resume around I-9 verification, E-Verify processing, and labor law compliance rather than corporate generalist experience.
Target postings that list E-Verify explicitly
SBM's federal and commercial facility contracts require E-Verify compliance for all hires. Roles posted under those contracts are structurally more likely to have established visa sponsorship workflows, so prioritize those listings when applying.
Use Migrate Mate to filter HR roles by visa type
SBM posts Human Resources Assistant openings across multiple states with varying sponsorship terms. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically by your visa category so you're only pursuing roles where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than requesting it cold.
Clarify TN eligibility before your first interview
Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status under the Human Resources Manager category. Confirm with the hiring team upfront whether the role's duties and your credentials satisfy DOL's TN occupational requirements, since TN does not require USCIS petition approval.
Build your OPT timeline around SBM's hiring cycle
SBM fills HR Assistant roles on a rolling basis tied to contract awards. If your OPT start date is approaching, apply at least 90 days out so there's enough runway for onboarding and, if needed, an H-1B cap-subject filing in the next April registration window.
Prepare a sponsorship conversation with documentation ready
When an offer is extended, come prepared with your current I-94 status, visa expiration date, and any OPT or CPT authorization already printed. Reducing administrative back-and-forth speeds up the internal approval SBM needs before initiating an H-1B or TN filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does SBM Management Services sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources Assistants?
Yes, SBM Management Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Human Resources Assistant roles. Because SBM operates under federal and commercial facility service contracts, its HR function requires consistent staffing, which supports the internal case for sponsorship. Your strongest position is to already be working in an HR capacity on OPT so SBM can file an H-1B petition during the April registration window before your authorization expires.
How do I apply for Human Resources Assistant jobs at SBM Management Services?
You can find and apply for Human Resources Assistant openings at SBM Management Services through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. SBM posts roles across multiple regions tied to its service contracts, so checking regularly matters. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect E-Verify administration, onboarding compliance, and high-volume hourly workforce support, which are the core functions of HR at a facility services company.
Which visa types does SBM Management Services commonly use for Human Resources Assistant roles?
SBM has supported F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, H-1B, and TN visas for Human Resources Assistant positions. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points since they require no USCIS petition. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose HR credentials and role duties satisfy the occupational requirements DOL has defined for that category. H-1B sponsorship is possible for longer-term employment once you've demonstrated fit in the role.
What qualifications does SBM Management Services expect for Human Resources Assistant roles?
SBM typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, combined with practical exposure to onboarding processes, recordkeeping, and employment eligibility verification. Experience with E-Verify and I-9 compliance is especially relevant given SBM's government contract environment. Fluency in HR information systems and strong administrative accuracy matter more here than generalist strategic HR experience.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for an HR Assistant role at SBM?
If you're on F-1 OPT, you have up to 12 months of work authorization, extendable to 24 months with a STEM extension if your degree qualifies. Start your SBM application at least three months before OPT begins. For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS opens cap registration each March for an October 1 start date, so your offer and internal approvals need to be in place well before that window. TN status can be obtained at a port of entry with faster turnaround.
