Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Electrical Project Engineer Jobs at Schneider Electric Jobs
Align Your Credentials to NEC and NFPA Standards
Schneider Electric's project engineering roles frequently require familiarity with National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E compliance. Documenting hands-on experience with these standards in your resume signals direct readiness for the industrial environments Schneider operates in.
Target Schneider's Energy Management Business Units
Schneider hires Electrical Project Engineers most heavily across its industrial automation and energy management divisions. Filtering your search by these business units, rather than applying broadly, puts you in front of the hiring teams with the most active sponsorship needs.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Sponsored Openings Quickly
Sponsored Electrical Project Engineer roles at Schneider don't always surface easily on general job boards. Migrate Mate filters specifically for visa-sponsoring employers, so you can identify and prioritize Schneider postings that match your visa type without sifting through ineligible listings.
Clarify Your Visa Category Before the Offer Stage
Schneider sponsors both H-1B and E-3 visas for engineering roles, and the filing process differs significantly between them. Confirm which category applies to your situation before negotiations begin, so the offer letter and Labor Condition Application with DOL can be structured correctly from the start.
Secure a Professional Engineering Reference for Your Specialty
For PERM-based Green Card sponsorship on EB-2 or EB-3 pathways, DOL requires Schneider to document the minimum requirements of the role. Having a reference who can attest to your specialized electrical engineering background strengthens the employer's ability to define and defend the position accurately.
Prepare a Portfolio of Completed Electrical System Projects
Schneider's interview process for project engineers typically includes technical walkthroughs of past work. Assembling documented examples of substation design, MV/LV switchgear specification, or site commissioning gives interviewers concrete evidence of the hands-on scope they need for sponsored hires.

Find Electrical Project Engineer at Schneider Electric JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Schneider Electric sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Project Engineers?
Yes, Schneider Electric sponsors H-1B visas for Electrical Project Engineers. The company files petitions through the standard USCIS H-1B cap process, which means your employer must submit a registration during the annual lottery window in March. If selected, Schneider works with immigration counsel to file the full petition before the October 1 start date. Roles tied to direct client projects or government contracts may also qualify for cap-exempt filing under certain conditions.
How do I apply for Electrical Project Engineer jobs at Schneider Electric?
Applications go through Schneider Electric's careers portal, where roles are listed by business unit and location. To find positions that include visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Schneider Electric openings that are open to sponsored candidates. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific division, such as industrial automation or energy management, since hiring teams within those units have distinct technical requirements.
Which visa types does Schneider Electric commonly use for Electrical Project Engineer roles?
Schneider Electric sponsors H-1B visas for most Electrical Project Engineer hires, and E-3 visas for Australian nationals in the same function. For engineers pursuing permanent residence, Schneider supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification filed with the DOL. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree level, and how the role is classified internally, so confirming this early in the offer process avoids delays.
What qualifications does Schneider Electric expect for sponsored Electrical Project Engineer roles?
Most sponsored openings require a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation threshold USCIS uses to approve H-1B petitions. Practical experience with power distribution, protection relays, or industrial control systems is consistently expected. Familiarity with NEC, IEC standards, and project management tools like AutoCAD or EPLAN strengthens your profile significantly, particularly for roles involving manufacturing facility upgrades or new site commissioning.
How do I manage the timeline between a job offer and my visa start date at Schneider Electric?
The gap between offer and work authorization depends on your visa type. For H-1B transfers from another employer, Schneider can file a portability petition and you can begin work once USCIS receives it, without waiting for approval. For new H-1B cap cases, the earliest start date is October 1 of the filing year. E-3 applicants can move faster since there's no lottery, and consular processing in Australia typically takes two to six weeks after the LCA is certified by DOL.
