Align Your HR Credentials to U.S. Standards
SHRM-CP or PHR certification signals fluency in U.S. labor law, which Sodexo's food service contracts require. If your credentials are from outside the U.S., get an equivalency evaluation before applying so recruiters don't question your compliance background.
Target Sodexo's Multi-Site Contract Roles First
People Operations Manager openings tied to large food service contracts, hospital cafeterias, or university dining programs are where Sodexo concentrates HR headcount. These roles have dedicated hiring pipelines and are more likely to support sponsorship than standalone corporate positions.
Clarify Sponsorship Willingness Before the Second Round
Sodexo's HR business partners handle sponsorship decisions at the business unit level, not centrally. Ask the recruiter which entity would be your employing entity and whether that unit has sponsored the same visa type before, so you're not surprised late in the process.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Sponsorship-Ready Openings
Filter People Operations Manager roles by visa type on Migrate Mate to identify Sodexo positions where F-1 OPT, TN, or H-2B visa sponsorship has been used. This saves time cold-applying to postings that won't move forward without Green Card authorization.
Prepare Your LCA Documentation for Food Service Wage Compliance
DOL's Labor Condition Application requires Sodexo to pay the prevailing wage for your role's location. Because food service wages vary sharply by metro area, confirm your offered salary meets the DOL wage level for that specific worksite before accepting an offer.
Sequence Your Timeline Around Contract Award Cycles
Sodexo wins and renews food service contracts on predictable fiscal cycles, which triggers new People Operations Manager hires. Interviewing six to eight weeks before a known contract start date puts you in the window when hiring managers have budget authority and urgency to file.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sodexo sponsor H-1B visas for People Operations Managers?
Sodexo's sponsorship for People Operations Managers in HR functions most commonly runs through visa categories tied to its workforce composition in food service, including F-1 OPT, TN visa, and J-1 visa. H-1B visa sponsorship is possible but decisions are made at the business unit level, so sponsorship eligibility varies by the specific contract, location, and hiring manager. Confirm directly with the recruiter which visa types the employing entity supports before advancing.
How do I apply for People Operations Manager jobs at Sodexo?
Applications go through Sodexo's careers portal, where roles are listed by segment, including Healthcare, Universities, and Corporate Services. Tailor your application to the specific food service or facilities segment rather than applying broadly. For visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate lets you filter Sodexo openings by visa type so you can target postings where sponsorship has been used for this role before applying.
Which visa types are commonly used for People Operations Manager roles at Sodexo?
Sodexo's food service workforce includes a high proportion of international hires, which means the company has experience with F-1 OPT for recent HR graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying HR occupations, J-1 for trainees and exchange visitors, and F-1 CPT for students completing practical training. The right category for you depends on your nationality, degree, and the specific role's employment terms.
What qualifications does Sodexo expect for People Operations Manager candidates?
Sodexo's People Operations Manager roles typically require a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, plus experience managing HR functions in a multi-site or high-volume hourly workforce environment. Familiarity with E-Verify compliance, I-9 administration, and labor law in food service or hospitality settings is a strong differentiator, since Sodexo's contracts span heavily regulated worksites with large non-exempt employee populations.
How do I manage my visa timeline when interviewing for a People Operations Manager role at Sodexo?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT end date against Sodexo's typical time-to-hire of four to eight weeks and whether STEM OPT extension applies to your degree. TN status can be obtained at the border, which is faster than USCIS petition processing. For any employer-filed petition, factor in that Sodexo's HR team will need time to prepare DOL and USCIS filings after an offer is accepted, so align start date expectations early.
