Align your experience with Sweetgreen's model
Sweetgreen emphasizes local sourcing, seasonal menus, and high-volume fast-casual throughput. Frame your Operations background around supply chain efficiency, food safety compliance, or multi-unit team management to match what their hiring teams are actively prioritizing.
Target roles above hourly team positions
Employer-sponsored visas like EB-2 and EB-3 require a formal petition process that Sweetgreen typically reserves for salaried Operations roles. Focus your applications on General Manager, Area Manager, or Supply Chain Coordinator positions rather than hourly or shift-based roles.
Prepare your credentials before outreach
EB-3 sponsorship requires PERM labor certification, which means DOL will scrutinize your qualifications against the posted job requirements. Have your degree transcripts, employment records, and any food safety certifications like ServSafe ready before you reach the offer stage.
Ask about sponsorship intent during interviews
Sweetgreen's Operations hiring managers may not raise sponsorship proactively. Ask directly whether the role is open to candidates requiring EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, and confirm whether their legal team has handled the PERM process for similar positions before.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Operations roles
Sponsorship-eligible Operations openings at Sweetgreen don't always surface on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Sweetgreen Operations positions where visa sponsorship is confirmed, so you're not wasting applications on roles that won't support your immigration needs.
Account for PERM timelines in your planning
EB-3 sponsorship through Sweetgreen involves a PERM labor certification process that can take 12 months or longer before USCIS even begins adjudicating your petition. If you're currently on OPT or a nonimmigrant status, start conversations with your employer about timelines well before your authorization expires.

Find Operations at Sweetgreen JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sweetgreen sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Sweetgreen's documented sponsorship activity for Operations positions has focused on employment-based Green Card categories rather than H-1B. H-1B sponsorship is possible but less common in food service Operations, since many roles don't meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS requires. If H-1B is your only pathway, confirm the specific role's eligibility with the recruiter before investing significant time in the application process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Operations roles at Sweetgreen?
Employment-based immigrant visa categories, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, are the most relevant pathways for Operations professionals at Sweetgreen. EB-3 is the more common route for roles that require skilled work but not advanced degrees, and it involves a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before USCIS adjudicates the immigrant petition. Nonimmigrant options like TN or H-1B are less frequently used for operational food service roles.
What qualifications or experience does Sweetgreen expect for sponsored Operations roles?
Sweetgreen's Operations hires at the sponsorship-eligible level typically involve candidates with experience managing high-volume food service environments, multi-unit oversight, or supply chain functions. For EB-3 sponsorship, DOL requires your qualifications to match the posted job description precisely. Relevant certifications like ServSafe, experience with inventory systems, and a track record in fast-casual or health-focused restaurant brands strengthen your profile significantly.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Sweetgreen?
Start by browsing current Operations openings through Migrate Mate, which filters for positions where visa sponsorship is confirmed at Sweetgreen. Apply through Sweetgreen's careers portal and address your visa situation early in the process, ideally in your cover letter or initial recruiter screen. Waiting until you have an offer to raise sponsorship can create delays or derail the process if the team hasn't budgeted for immigration costs.
How long does the sponsorship process take for an Operations role at Sweetgreen?
If Sweetgreen sponsors you for an EB-3 Green Card, the PERM labor certification stage alone can take 12 to 18 months before USCIS begins processing your immigrant petition. Depending on your country of birth, priority date backlogs can extend the total timeline significantly. Factor this into your status planning, especially if you're currently on OPT or another time-limited authorization, and align with your employer on filing timelines early.
