Verify Your Credentials Meet Texas Licensing Requirements
Before applying, confirm your medical degree and residency training meet Texas Medical Board requirements. International medical graduates need ECFMG certification, and delays in credential verification can stall both your offer and the H-1B filing timeline.
Target Physician Openings in Underserved Specialties
Texas Health Resources consistently recruits for specialties facing regional shortages, including hospitalist, primary care, and psychiatry roles. Focusing your applications on high-demand areas improves your odds of reaching the offer stage where sponsorship becomes a real conversation.
Ask Recruiters Directly About Sponsorship Before Interviewing
Health systems sometimes handle sponsorship case by case at the department level, not as a blanket policy. Confirm in writing that the specific department and role support H-1B sponsorship before investing time in panel interviews or credentialing paperwork.
Understand How LCA Filing Affects Your Start Date
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. For Physician roles, the prevailing wage determination for your specialty and geographic area in the DFW market directly affects filing timelines, so build in at least 90 days from offer to start.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Physician Roles by Sponsorship History
Searching broad job boards makes it hard to distinguish which openings are genuinely open to sponsored candidates. Use Migrate Mate to browse Physician listings at Texas Health Resources filtered by verified visa sponsorship, so you're applying where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare for PERM Early If Targeting a Green Card
If Texas Health Resources agrees to pursue EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, the PERM labor certification process requires documenting a nationwide recruitment effort. Physicians with specific subspecialty training sometimes qualify for a national interest waiver, which bypasses PERM entirely and can significantly shorten your path.

Does Texas Health Resources sponsor H-1B visas for Physicians?
Yes, Texas Health Resources sponsors H-1B visas for Physician roles. Sponsorship is typically handled at the department or facility level, so the specific team hiring you will confirm whether they can support a petition. International medical graduates should raise sponsorship during early recruiter conversations to avoid late-stage surprises after credentialing has already begun.
Which visa types are commonly used for Physician roles at Texas Health Resources?
Physician roles at Texas Health Resources are most commonly sponsored under H-1B classification, which covers specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree equivalent in a specific field. For longer-term pathways, the health system has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card sponsorship. Physicians with exceptional credentials or a national interest argument may also explore self-petitioning under EB-1A or EB-2 NIW.
How do I apply for Physician jobs at Texas Health Resources?
You can browse and apply for Physician openings directly through Texas Health Resources' careers portal, or use Migrate Mate to filter for roles with confirmed visa sponsorship before applying. When you reach the interview stage, be prepared to discuss your ECFMG certification status, Texas Medical Board licensure timeline, and any prior visa history, as these affect onboarding and petition scheduling.
What qualifications are expected for Physician roles at Texas Health Resources?
Texas Health Resources requires Physicians to hold a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited institution, along with completed U.S. residency training in the relevant specialty. International medical graduates must hold active ECFMG certification. Board certification or active board eligibility is standard, and Texas state medical licensure must be in place or actively in progress before your start date.
How do I plan my timeline for H-1B sponsorship at a health system like Texas Health Resources?
H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date, so an offer finalized after January leaves limited runway. Physicians already holding H-1B status with another employer can transfer to Texas Health Resources at any point in the year without waiting for the next cap cycle. Budget at least 60 to 90 days between a signed offer and USCIS filing to allow for LCA certification through DOL and internal credentialing review.
