Verify Your License Transfers to Texas
Texas requires state-specific licensure for most therapy disciplines. Confirm your foreign credentials have been evaluated by a USCIS-recognized evaluation service before applying, so your application isn't stalled at the offer stage waiting on equivalency.
Target Behavioral Health Openings Specifically
Texas Health Resources posts Therapist roles across specialties, but behavioral health and outpatient mental health positions see consistent hiring volume. Filtering your search to those units improves your odds of landing a role that typically supports sponsorship.
Browse Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
Search Therapist openings at Texas Health Resources on Migrate Mate, which filters for visa-sponsoring employers. This saves time by surfacing roles where sponsorship is already part of the hiring conversation, not an afterthought.
Ask HR About LCA Filing Timelines Early
For H-1B sponsorship, Texas Health Resources must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your petition. Ask your recruiter where the role sits in that process to avoid surprises close to your start date.
Prepare for Specialty Occupation Documentation
USCIS scrutinizes whether Therapist roles meet the specialty occupation standard. Have your graduate-level transcripts, clinical hours log, and state license ready. A clear degree-to-job-duty match reduces the risk of a Request for Evidence.

Find Therapist at Texas Health Resources JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Texas Health Resources sponsor H-1B visas for Therapists?
Yes, Texas Health Resources has sponsored H-1B visas for Therapist roles. The process requires the employer to first file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL, followed by an H-1B petition with USCIS. Because H-1B cap-subject slots are lottery-based, timing your application cycle with their recruiting calendar matters. Roles in behavioral health and outpatient therapy tend to be the most active hiring areas.
Which visa types are commonly used for Therapist roles at Texas Health Resources?
Texas Health Resources has used both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based immigrant visas, specifically EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories, for Therapist positions. H-1B is the most common entry point for foreign-trained therapists already in the U.S., while EB-3 is typical for permanent residence sponsorship given the professional and skilled worker classification most therapy roles fall under.
What qualifications and experience are expected for Therapist roles at Texas Health Resources?
Most Therapist positions require a master's degree in a relevant discipline such as counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a clinical specialty. Active Texas state licensure or eligibility for licensure is standard. Postgraduate supervised clinical hours are typically required, and experience in healthcare system settings is preferred over private practice backgrounds for hospital-affiliated roles.
How do I apply for Therapist jobs at Texas Health Resources?
You can find and apply for Therapist positions at Texas Health Resources through Migrate Mate, which lists their open roles filtered by visa sponsorship availability. When applying, confirm your licensure status for Texas and be prepared to indicate your visa situation during the recruiter screening. Direct applications through the system move faster when your credentials documentation is already organized.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a Texas Health Resources Therapist role?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, align your job search with the USCIS registration window in March, since cap-subject H-1B petitions can only take effect October 1 of that year. For Green Card sponsorship through PERM, expect the DOL labor certification process alone to take 12 to 18 months or more. Starting conversations with Texas Health Resources recruiters well in advance of your current status expiring gives the process room to move without gaps.
