Verify your license transfers across state lines
PruittHealth operates facilities across multiple southeastern states. Confirm your therapy license is valid or reciprocal in the state where you're applying before outreach, since licensure gaps can stall an offer even when sponsorship is already approved.
Target facilities with active rehab departments
PruittHealth's skilled nursing and long-term care sites run dedicated PT, OT, and SLP programs. Focus your applications on facilities advertising full rehab teams rather than contract or PRN postings, which are far less likely to come with visa sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to filter sponsored Therapist openings
Not every PruittHealth posting will flag sponsorship eligibility upfront. Use Migrate Mate to browse and filter Therapist roles at PruittHealth that have a confirmed sponsorship history, so you're applying where it's actually on the table.
Understand how TN status applies to your discipline
Canadian and Mexican therapists may qualify for TN status if their specific discipline appears on the USMCA qualifying occupations list. Physical Therapists qualify directly; confirm your exact role title aligns before assuming TN is an available path.
Ask HR about PERM timing during offer negotiations
EB-3 sponsorship for therapists typically requires a PERM labor certification filed with DOL before the immigrant visa petition. Ask the recruiter explicitly whether the facility initiates PERM at hire or after a probationary period, since the timeline affects your planning significantly.
Align your OPT start date with onboarding windows
F-1 OPT authorization is tied to your program completion date and gives you a fixed window to begin employment. Coordinate your USCIS EAD card arrival with PruittHealth's onboarding schedule to avoid gaps that could complicate your work authorization or delay your start date.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does PruittHealth sponsor H-1B visas for Therapists?
PruittHealth's primary sponsorship pathways for Therapists are employment-based Green Cards (EB-2 and EB-3) rather than H-1B visas. Therapy roles in skilled nursing and long-term care tend to qualify well for EB-3 given the defined educational and licensure requirements. If you're currently on H-1B status through another employer, ask PruittHealth HR whether a transfer is feasible for your specific role and location.
How do I apply for Therapist jobs at PruittHealth?
Applications go through PruittHealth's careers portal, where openings are listed by facility and discipline. Because not every posting explicitly states visa sponsorship availability, filtering for roles with a confirmed sponsorship track record saves significant time. Migrate Mate lets you browse PruittHealth Therapist openings specifically tied to sponsorship history, so you can target the right facilities before applying.
Which visa types does PruittHealth commonly use to sponsor Therapists?
PruittHealth has a track record of sponsoring Therapists through F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa status for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. The right pathway depends on your nationality, current immigration status, and the specific therapy discipline you're being hired for.
What qualifications does PruittHealth expect from Therapist candidates seeking sponsorship?
PruittHealth requires candidates to hold a relevant therapy degree (typically a master's or doctorate for PT and SLP roles, a bachelor's or master's for OT), active state licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of hire, and clinical experience in rehabilitation or long-term care settings. Sponsorship is extended to candidates who already meet these thresholds, not as a path to train into the role.
How do I understand the timeline from offer to work authorization at PruittHealth?
Timeline depends heavily on which visa pathway applies. F-1 OPT candidates need their EAD card in hand before starting, which requires planning around USCIS processing windows of two to three months. TN status can often be obtained at a port of entry with same-day processing for eligible candidates. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship involves a multi-stage process through DOL and USCIS that can span several years, so most candidates begin working on a nonimmigrant status first.
