Verify Your Licensure Before Applying
Indiana requires state licensure for clinical therapy roles. Confirm your credential, whether LCSW, LMFT, OT, PT, or SLP, meets Indiana's requirements before submitting applications, since IU Health hiring teams screen on licensure eligibility early.
Target Departments With Recurring Therapy Openings
IU Health's behavioral health units, inpatient rehab centers, and outpatient clinics post Therapist roles consistently. Focusing your search on these specific service lines improves your odds compared to applying broadly across the health system.
Search Verified Sponsoring Employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Therapist openings at IU Health by visa type, so you're only reviewing roles where sponsorship has been confirmed. This cuts through job listings that don't clarify immigration support upfront.
Align Your Resume to Clinical Competency Frameworks
IU Health evaluates Therapists against clinical competency standards relevant to their care setting. Tailor your resume to reflect patient population experience, evidence-based treatment modalities, and documentation proficiency rather than listing credentials alone.
Ask About LCA Filing Timelines Before Accepting an Offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS processes your H-1B petition. Ask HR during the offer stage how far in advance they initiate this step to avoid gaps in your work authorization.

Find Therapist at Indiana University Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Indiana University Health sponsor H-1B visas for Therapists?
Yes, Indiana University Health sponsors H-1B visas for Therapist roles. The health system has an established immigration sponsorship process and works with qualified candidates across clinical therapy disciplines. If you're pursuing an H-1B, confirm the specific role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines, which typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field.
Which visa types are commonly used for Therapist roles at Indiana University Health?
Indiana University Health sponsors multiple visa categories for Therapists, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying therapy roles, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing clinical training. For permanent residence, IU Health has supported EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for therapy professionals pursuing long-term careers within the health system.
How do I apply for Therapist jobs at Indiana University Health?
You can browse and apply for Therapist positions at Indiana University Health directly through their careers portal, or use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for IU Health roles that include visa sponsorship. When applying, confirm your Indiana licensure status is current or in progress, as IU Health hiring managers typically verify licensure eligibility before advancing candidates in the interview process.
What qualifications and experience does Indiana University Health expect for Therapist roles?
IU Health generally expects candidates to hold a relevant graduate degree, such as an MSW, MS in Counseling, MOT, DPT, or MS-SLP, and to be licensed or license-eligible in Indiana. Clinical experience in a hospital, rehabilitation, or behavioral health setting strengthens your application. Some roles, particularly in specialized inpatient units, prefer candidates with post-licensure supervised hours already completed.
How do I time my H-1B petition if I receive an offer from Indiana University Health?
H-1B petitions for a standard October 1 start date must be filed with USCIS during the April filing window, following lottery selection in March. If IU Health extends your offer outside this window, your options include starting on OPT or CPT if eligible, or waiting for the next cap cycle. Coordinate early with IU Health's HR team to map your authorization timeline against the USCIS cap schedule.
