Tips for Finding Registered Nurse Jobs at Texas Health Resources
Get your NCLEX and credentials verified early
Texas Health Resources requires active RN licensure before it can begin any visa filing. Start your CGFNS credential evaluation and Texas BON licensure application well before applying, since delays here stall the entire sponsorship process.
Target units with consistent hiring demand
THR's acute care hospitals in Arlington, Plano, and Fort Worth regularly post RN openings in med-surg, ICU, and telemetry. Focusing your applications on these high-volume units increases your chance of landing a manager willing to initiate sponsorship.
Search open RN roles using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter RN openings at Texas Health Resources that are flagged for visa sponsorship. This saves time by surfacing only the roles where sponsorship is actively on the table for your visa category.
Understand how EB-3 PERM applies to nursing
RN roles typically qualify as Schedule A occupations under DOL rules, which means THR can skip the standard PERM labor market test. Confirm with the recruiter that the role will be filed under Schedule A to avoid unnecessary processing delays.
Ask about cap-exempt H-1B filing options
Hospital systems affiliated with nonprofit research or teaching functions can sometimes file H-1B petitions outside the annual lottery. Ask THR's HR team directly whether your unit qualifies for cap-exempt filing before banking on a lottery cycle.
Align your start date with USCIS processing windows
H-1B cap-subject approvals take effect October 1, but premium processing through USCIS can cut the wait to roughly 15 business days. Coordinate your offer acceptance and relocation timeline around these windows to avoid gaps in work authorization.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Texas Health Resources sponsor H-1B visas for Registered Nurses?
Yes, Texas Health Resources does sponsor H-1B visas for Registered Nurses. RN roles qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Whether your petition is cap-subject or cap-exempt depends on which THR facility is hiring, so confirm the filing category with the recruiter before accepting an offer.
How do I apply for Registered Nurse jobs at Texas Health Resources?
Applications go through the Texas Health Resources careers portal, where you can filter by role and location. When you apply, be upfront about your visa sponsorship needs in the initial screening. Nurse recruiters at THR are experienced with international candidates, but stating your situation early prevents wasted time if a specific unit cannot support sponsorship. You can also browse current openings on Migrate Mate.
Which visa types does Texas Health Resources typically use to sponsor Registered Nurses?
THR sponsors both nonimmigrant and immigrant visas for RNs. The H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant path for BSN-level nurses. On the immigrant side, EB-3 is standard, and because Registered Nursing is a Schedule A occupation under DOL rules, THR can file for a Green Card without completing the full PERM labor market test, which significantly shortens the process.
What qualifications does Texas Health Resources expect for sponsored Registered Nurse roles?
THR generally expects a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, active Texas RN licensure (or eligibility pending NCLEX), and clinical experience in a relevant specialty such as med-surg, critical care, or emergency nursing. International graduates must also have a CGFNS credential evaluation on file. Some units require ACLS or specialty certifications before your first shift.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an RN role at Texas Health Resources?
Timeline depends on the visa path. An H-1B with premium processing through USCIS can be approved in roughly 15 business days, though cap-subject petitions are tied to the October 1 start date. An EB-3 Green Card under Schedule A typically takes one to three years depending on your country of birth and current priority date backlogs. Starting credential verification and licensing as early as possible prevents avoidable delays.
