As a Transportation Compliance Specialist, you'll help ensure drivers, vehicles, and transportation programs remain compliant with DOT and other regulatory requirements while supporting a safety-focused and technology-driven fleet operation.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files and ensure all required compliance documentation is complete and up to date
- Monitor CDL licenses, medical certifications, permits, registrations, and inspection requirements to ensure ongoing compliance
- Administer driver and vehicle records within Samsara and review Hours of Service (HOS) compliance reports
- Prepare documentation and records for DOT audits, inspections, and internal compliance reviews
- Generate and distribute compliance reports, dashboards, scorecards, and performance metrics
- Coordinate compliance communications, training tracking, regulatory filings, and transportation-related documentation
- Other duties as assigned
Do you have what it takes?
- 3+ years of experience in transportation, fleet administration, logistics, safety, compliance, or a related field
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Transportation, Safety, Logistics, Compliance, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- Experience supporting DOT compliance programs and maintaining regulatory records is preferred
- Familiarity with transportation management systems, ELD platforms, or Samsara is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accurate documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
