We are seeking a qualified, detail-oriented, and experienced Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance Specialist to strengthen our food safety programs, regulatory compliance, documentation systems, and operational procedures.
This is a hands-on technical position focused on implementing, monitoring, documenting, and continuously improving food safety and quality assurance systems within our bakery production facility.
Key Responsibilities
1. FDA, FSMA, and Regulatory Compliance
- Support compliance with applicable FDA regulations, FSMA requirements, and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
- Develop, implement, and maintain documented food safety procedures.
- Monitor regulatory compliance throughout production, packaging, storage, and distribution operations.
- Support preparation for regulatory inspections and customer audits.
- Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
2. SQF and Food Safety Certification
- Support the development and implementation of an SQF-compliant food safety management system.
- Prepare and maintain documentation required for SQF certification and audits.
- Conduct internal inspections and assist with audit readiness.
- Support HACCP-based food safety programs and preventive controls.
- Monitor corrective and preventive action plans.
3. Documentation and Quality Systems
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Organize food safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, and compliance evidence.
- Establish document control and recordkeeping procedures.
- Maintain traceability, allergen control, sanitation verification, and supplier compliance documentation.
- Support digitalization and continuous improvement of food safety documentation systems.
4. Production and Sanitation Monitoring
- Monitor food safety practices in bakery production and packaging areas.
- Verify sanitation procedures for industrial mixers, ovens, production equipment, work surfaces, and refrigerated and frozen storage areas.
- Support environmental monitoring and preventive maintenance coordination.
- Identify potential contamination risks and recommend preventive measures.
- Verify compliance with established food safety and hygiene procedures.
5. Training and Continuous Improvement
- Conduct food safety and hygiene training for production, sanitation, and warehouse personnel.
