Corporate Accountant Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a corporate accountant in Colorado?
Most corporate accountant roles in Colorado require a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and many employers prefer or require a CPA license. The Colorado State Board of Accountancy oversees CPA licensure in the state, which requires passing the Uniform CPA Examination, meeting Colorado's education requirements, and completing supervised experience hours. Even without a CPA, candidates with strong ERP skills and close-cycle experience can qualify for staff-level roles.
How much do corporate accountants make in Colorado?
Corporate accountants in Colorado earn a median of about $97,030 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,760 for the lowest 10% to over $162,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire corporate accountants in Colorado?
Employers hiring corporate accountants in Colorado right now include Jobot, SSR Mining, and Kinder Morgan, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's mix of energy, aerospace, healthcare, and technology companies means demand is spread across multiple industries, with Denver-area headquarters driving the largest share of openings.
Which Colorado cities have the most corporate accountant jobs?
Denver, Thornton, and Englewood lead Colorado for corporate accountant openings. Denver dominates because it is home to the regional or national headquarters of major energy, healthcare, and financial services firms, while Boulder attracts demand from technology and life sciences companies, and Colorado Springs draws from defense contractors and utilities with large administrative and finance operations in the area.
Are there remote corporate accountant jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than many finance roles, because corporate accounting work is largely desk-based and output-driven. About 60% of corporate accountant openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the analytical and reporting nature of the work. Financial reporting, reconciliation, and budgeting tasks are the functions most commonly offered with flexible or fully remote arrangements.
How can I get hired as a corporate accountant in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for staff accountant or accounting analyst roles, which are the standard entry points at Colorado employers before moving into a corporate accountant title. Large Denver-area employers such as DaVita, Centura Health, and Xcel Energy run new-graduate and rotational finance programs that place candidates without direct experience. Pursuing or completing the CPA exam process through the Colorado State Board of Accountancy gives candidates a measurable credential edge, and lateral moves from accounts payable, payroll, or audit assistant roles are a recognized path in.
Where can I find and apply to corporate accountant jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to corporate accountant jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state right now. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
