Corporate Accountant Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a corporate accountant in Delaware?
Most corporate accountant roles in Delaware require a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and many employers expect or prefer a CPA license. The Delaware Board of Accountancy oversees CPA licensure in the state, which requires passing the Uniform CPA Examination and meeting Delaware's education and experience requirements. Candidates without a CPA can still enter the field at the staff or junior level, particularly in Delaware's large corporate holding company sector, and pursue licensure while working.
How much do corporate accountants make in Delaware?
Corporate accountants in Delaware earn a median of about $95,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,500 for the lowest 10% to over $132,550 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire corporate accountants in Delaware?
Delaware corporate accountant roles are posted by JPMorganChase, Solenis, and Epic and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's status as the legal home for a large share of U.S. corporations means many multinationals maintain dedicated accounting teams in the state, creating consistent demand across industries.
Which Delaware cities have the most corporate accountant jobs?
Wilmington, Newark, and New Castle are the Delaware cities with the most corporate accountant openings. Wilmington leads because it is the state's financial and corporate headquarters hub, home to major banks, investment firms, and the registered offices of thousands of corporations, while Newark and Dover attract openings tied to university-adjacent employers, state government, and regional business operations.
Are there remote corporate accountant jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than most fields. Corporate accounting is desk-based and data-driven, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 31% of corporate accountant openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly finance teams have adopted flexible work. Roles focused on financial reporting, consolidations, and intercompany accounting tend to be the most frequently offered remotely.
How can I get hired as a corporate accountant in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a staff accountant or accounting associate role, which large Delaware employers such as DuPont, JPMorgan Chase, and Incyte use to develop early-career talent. Many of these companies recruit directly from the University of Delaware and Delaware State University through campus programs. A bachelor's degree in accounting and active progress toward the CPA exam give candidates a clear edge, and adjacent roles in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or audit support are common stepping stones into a corporate accounting track.
Where can I find and apply to corporate accountant jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate lists current corporate accountant openings in Delaware. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your background and interests, and apply directly to each position. The listings reflect what employers are actively hiring for in Delaware right now.
