Crew Leader / Crew Member
Erosion DeFence is an erosion and sediment control company based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. We are seeking reliable and enthusiastic people to join our team as Crew Leaders or Crew Members.
Everyday with Erosion Defence is different. If you join our team you will have opportunities to work outside, operate machinery and tractors, and work all around the Charlotte area and occasionally out of town. We feel it is important to be aware of the most effective ways to do our jobs and encourage (and pay for) our employees to take erosion certification classes.
Crew Members are responsible for:
● Completing tasks given by Crew Leader; this may include field work labor (hand digging when required, backfilling, spreading seed by hand, etc.)
● Working as a team member to complete tasks effectively and safely
● Notifying crew leader/manager(s) of job hazards or safety concerns
● Using best management practices effectively at every job
● Accounting for all tools and materials when the job is complete
● Opportunity to advance into multiple positions
Crew Leaders are responsible for:
● Completing tasks given by Field Operations Manager for the day
● Communicating effectively with crew members on each job and the scope of work to be done at the job
● Operating truck and equipment safely at all times
● Using best management practices effectively at every job
● Filling out daily work reports and submitting to you field manager
● Servicing equipment used on the job at the end of the day. This includes cleaning debris off machinery and ensuring the crew cleans out the truck used that day
Job requirements:
● Reliable/dependable
● Ability to get to work on time - you will need reliable transportation to and from work.
● Comfortable with regular exposure to weather conditions working outside; as well as ability to work in extreme terrain (ie: mud, slopes, etc.)
● Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
● Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
● Ability to work well with others in a group setting
● Ability to work 40+ hours per week
● Work Saturdays as required
● Experience with skid steer / mini excavator / tractor is a plus, not required
