The Opportunity
As a Project Supply Chain Specialist supporting HVDC projects, you will coordinate supply chain activities during project execution, acting as the main point of contact between internal teams and suppliers. You will work closely with project supply chain managers, engineering, logistics, and documentation teams to ensure that equipment and related documentation are delivered according to agreed timelines, cost, and quality expectations. The role involves proactive planning, tracking supplier performance, and supporting issue resolution to maintain project progress. You will contribute to supplier coordination efforts including participation in kick-off and clarification meetings, while helping address delivery constraints and quality gaps. Through consistent follow-up and coordination across stakeholders, your work supports the timely availability of equipment essential for power transmission systems, contributing to stable and reliable grid operations and the execution of large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Act as the focal point between project teams and suppliers during project execution.
- Coordinate with supply chain managers, engineers, logistics planners, and documentation teams to support deliveries.
- Track equipment and documentation deliveries to ensure alignment with agreed time, cost, and quality.
- Plan and follow up on supplier deliveries and internal coordination activities throughout execution.
- Support supplier engagement through participation in kick-off and clarification meetings.
- Work with project supply chain managers to address supplier delivery constraints and quality gaps.
- Manage assigned equipment or project responsibilities within a collaborative team environment.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Combination of education and experience such as a high school diploma or equivalent with 10 years of relevant experience, an associates degree with 5 years of relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree with minimum of 3 years professional supply chain, procurement or project management experience.
- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience working with suppliers and project-based supply chain activities.
- Experience working in purchasing, supply chain, or project-based environments.
- Experience supporting negotiations or commercial discussions.
