Customer Support Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a customer support in Wisconsin?
Most customer support roles in Wisconsin do not require a state-issued license. Employers typically look for a high school diploma or equivalent, with associate or bachelor's degrees preferred for roles in insurance, healthcare, or financial services. Completing industry-recognized training such as a Help Desk Institute certification or a customer service certificate from a Wisconsin technical college strengthens your candidacy considerably.
Which companies hire customer supports in Wisconsin?
Employers hiring customer supports in Wisconsin right now include Fastenal, Uline, and Abbott, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Wisconsin's strong insurance and financial services sector means companies like American Family Insurance and Northwestern Mutual are among the most consistent sources of full-time customer support openings.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most customer support jobs?
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and De Pere have the most customer support openings in Wisconsin. Milwaukee leads because of its large concentration of insurance carriers, financial institutions, and healthcare systems, while Madison's anchor employer Epic Systems and its vendor ecosystem generate significant demand, and Green Bay's mix of manufacturing, retail, and regional healthcare employers sustains a steady pipeline of openings.
Are there remote customer support jobs in Wisconsin?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 44% of customer support openings tied to Wisconsin are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how well suited the role is for phone, chat, and email work that needs no physical presence. Technical support and insurance customer service roles show the highest concentration of fully remote positions among Wisconsin listings.
How can I get hired as a customer support in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to entry-level agent or representative roles at Wisconsin's large insurance and healthcare employers, where structured onboarding programs are common. American Family Insurance and Aurora Health Care, for example, regularly hire candidates without prior industry experience and provide paid training. Candidates coming from retail, hospitality, or food service roles transition well, and completing a customer service certificate through a Wisconsin Technical College System program gives your application a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to customer support jobs in Wisconsin?
