Data Consultant Jobs in Nebraska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data consultant in Nebraska?
Nebraska does not require a state-issued license to work as a data consultant, so the path runs through education and credentials recognized by employers. Most Nebraska hiring managers expect a bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, information systems, or business analytics. Certifications from vendors such as Microsoft, Google, or Tableau strengthen a candidacy considerably. Graduates from the University of Nebraska system and Creighton University are well-recognized by Omaha and Lincoln employers for data-focused roles.
How much do data consultants make in Nebraska?
Data consultants in Nebraska earn a median of about $98,230 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $66,230 for the lowest 10% to over $133,140 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data consultants in Nebraska?
Companies currently hiring data consultants in Nebraska include Victra-Verizon Authorized Retailer, Johnson Brothers, and Bryan Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nebraska's concentration of insurance carriers, financial institutions, and agribusiness technology firms means that data consultant demand tends to be steady rather than seasonal.
Which Nebraska cities have the most data consultant jobs?
The cities with the most data consultant openings in Nebraska are Omaha, Lincoln, and Nebraska. Omaha generates the largest share of demand, driven by its dense cluster of financial services headquarters, insurance carriers, and healthcare networks, while Lincoln's openings are anchored by state government agencies, the University of Nebraska, and regional technology firms.
Are there remote data consultant jobs in Nebraska?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 23% of data consultant openings tied to Nebraska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based, software-driven nature of the work. Project-based and contract engagements in business intelligence and analytics reporting are the positions most likely to support fully remote arrangements.
How can I get hired as a data consultant in Nebraska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior data analyst or reporting analyst role at a Nebraska financial institution or healthcare network, which typically requires a relevant degree but not prior consulting experience. Mutual of Omaha, Nebraska Medicine, and state government agencies in Lincoln regularly bring on entry-level analysts who build toward consulting responsibilities over time. A portfolio of capstone projects or a vendor certification such as the Google Data Analytics Certificate gives candidates a concrete edge when competing against others without professional experience.
Where can I find and apply to data consultant jobs in Nebraska?
You can find and apply to data consultant jobs in Nebraska on Migrate Mate, which lists current Nebraska openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit your experience and preferred location.
