INTRODUCTION
Phillips Medisize is seeking a Development Engineer to serve as a technical leader in test and measurement methods and equipment supporting optical fiber and related products. In this role, you will drive engineering projects, support production and customers, and lead the development and implementation of advanced measurement capabilities.

The company makes products ranging from interconnect components to collimators to complex fiber optic assemblies used in a wide range of industries. This Molex facility works with custom fiber optic assemblies, bundles, and specialty fibers including gold and aluminum metalized fibers for industrial and medical applications.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead and execute engineering projects related to test and measurement systems and processes
- Serve as a technical resource for cross-functional teams, including engineering and production
- Perform test and measurement activities to support product development and customer requirements
- Support manufacturing by addressing ongoing test and measurement needs and ensuring product quality
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with test and measurement equipment, including hands-on diagnostics and repairs
- Develop, document, and maintain test procedures and equipment operating standards
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data; prepare reports and present findings to engineering and leadership teams
- Train production and engineering personnel on test methods and equipment usage
- Identify opportunities for improvement in testing processes, equipment, and technical capabilities
- Evaluate and implement new measurement technologies and techniques
- Collaborate with customers to address technical questions
- Lead and support product development initiatives
- Participate in customer visits, technical discussions, and industry events as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation for engineering projects and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience with test and measurement systems, preferably in optical fiber, photonics, or similar technologies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supporting manufacturing environments and production testing relating to optical fiber
- Experience with working on an optical bench/table with lasers and other optical elements
- Coding experience such as Python, C/C#, LabVIEW, etc.
- Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
- Experience developing or implementing new test equipment or measurement techniques
