A private family in Denver, Colorado, is seeking an exceptional, highly experienced Private Educator to provide individualized academic instruction, enrichment, and developmental support for their gifted and neurodivergent 7-year-old son.

Key ResponsibilitiesIndividualized Curriculum Development & Academic Instruction

• Assess the child's current academic abilities, learning profile, strengths, interests, and areas requiring additional support.
• Independently design, develop, implement, and continually refine a comprehensive individualized educational plan.
• Select, create, and adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and educational resources based on the child's learning needs and academic progress.
• Provide direct, high-quality instruction in foundational elementary subjects, including literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and written language.
• Demonstrate strong expertise in early literacy instruction, including phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and writing development.
• Ensure mastery of essential academic foundations while identifying opportunities for accelerated or advanced learning.
• Establish measurable educational goals, monitor academic progress, and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
• Incorporate the child's individual interests into meaningful instruction while maintaining accountability for essential academic development.
• Maintain organized educational records, progress assessments, instructional plans, and ongoing communication with the parents.

Experiential Learning & Educational Enrichment

• Create engaging, hands-on, project-based learning opportunities that encourage curiosity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity.
• Incorporate museums, libraries, outdoor exploration, community resources, cultural experiences, and educational outings into the child's learning.

• Apply a strong understanding of giftedness, twice-exceptionality, ADHD, executive-function differences, and asynchronous development.
• Support the development of planning, organization, task initiation, time management, transitions, and other executive-function skills.
• Incorporate strategies that strengthen emotional regulation, frustration tolerance, resilience, and problem-solving.
• Adapt instruction and expectations to accommodate differences between intellectual ability and developmental readiness.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

• Strong knowledge of elementary mathematics and other core academic subjects.
• Proven ability to independently develop, select, or substantially adapt curriculum for an individual learner.

• Direct experience educating gifted or twice-exceptional (2e) children.

• Montessori certification, training, or substantial experience with Montessori-inspired education.
• Background in gifted education, special education, individualized education, or learning-specialist roles.
• Previous experience as a Private Educator, Private Teacher, Governess, Educational Specialist, or similar private-service professional.
• Experience in microschools, individualized learning environments, or educational consulting.
• Proven ability to design engaging, project-based, experiential, and interdisciplinary learning experiences.
• Experience collaborating with therapists, specialists, and multidisciplinary developmental teams.
