Job Title: Retail Training Specialist
Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Location: Denver, Colorado
Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000

Position Objective
- The Retail Training Specialist supports the design and delivery of engaging, scalable learning experiences for Colorado retail operations across all store roles and locations.
- This role assists in ensuring training is consistent, operationally effective, and aligned to the learner experience, with a focus on retail onboarding, LMS administration, content development, and engagement strategy in support of Colorado retail teams.
Essential Functions
Retail Onboarding & Learning Journey (30%)
- Support the coordination and delivery of a structured onboarding experience for Colorado retail roles including Budtender, Lead, and Store Leadership
- Assist in ensuring onboarding is consistent, engaging, and aligned to operational readiness across all Colorado locations
- Partner with Field and Leadership Development to align onboarding with real-world store expectations
- Track onboarding completion and share feedback to support continuous improvement
LMS Ownership & Learning Experience (30%)
- Support LMS administration for Colorado retail training including learning paths, role-based curricula, and automated assignments
- Assist in maintaining an engaging and user-friendly learner experience across all Colorado retail team members
- Pull and organize completion, engagement, and performance data to support reporting efforts
Gamification & Engagement Strategy (20%)
- Support the implementation of gamification strategies including badging, leaderboards, incentives, and progress tracking for Colorado retail teams
- Assist in increasing training completion, engagement, and retention through interactive design
- Monitor learner participation and share observations to inform continuous improvement
Content Development & Retail Enablement (15%)
- Support the development of training content including microlearning modules, SOP-based job aids, and customer experience training
- Assist in translating Colorado retail operational processes into clear, actionable training content
- Help maintain consistency and version control across all materials
Compliance, Reporting & Operational Support (5%)
- Assist in tracking and reporting on compliance-related training requirements across all Colorado retail locations
- Help maintain audit-ready documentation and training records
- Partner with Compliance and Operations to support Colorado regulatory training standards
- Assist with the rollout of training initiatives, tools, and system updates

- Proactively identifies gaps and opportunities

Requirements
Education and Experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age in accordance with state cannabis regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Communications, Business, or related field preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in training operations, LMS administration, instructional design, or learning experience design
- Experience working with LMS platforms (implementation, administration, reporting) required
- Experience developing digital and interactive learning content preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Strong content creation skills (PowerPoint, Canva, microlearning tools)
- Understanding of modern learning principles (microlearning, blended learning, adult learning theory)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret training data and engagement metrics
- High attention to detail with strong organizational discipline
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions
- This position follows a hybrid schedule, with an on-site presence of approximately three days per week and up to two remote days, based on business needs.
- Requires scheduling flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.
- Occasional travel may be required for store visits, cross-functional collaboration, or market support.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
