Job Overview
As a Service Electrician, you’ll inspect, install, maintain, and repair electrical systems across commercial and industrial settings. You’ll use electrical diagnostics, schematics, and blueprints to identify issues, complete repairs, and keep work aligned with the National Electrical Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70, and local electrical codes. This hands-on role calls for a strong focus on safe, reliable electrical work.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform repairs on commercial and industrial electrical systems, including low- and high-voltage wiring.
- Read electrical schematics and blueprints to plan installations, trace circuits, and verify completed work.
- Use hand tools, power tools, a voltmeter, and an ohmmeter to test, diagnose, and service electrical systems.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other industrial electrical systems as needed.
- Follow electrical safety procedures and applicable codes at construction and renovation sites.
Experience
- Electrical experience in commercial or industrial settings is relevant; experience in both is valuable.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring, high voltage, low voltage, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting is important.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics and apply NEC, NFPA 70, and local electrical codes.
- Construction site experience, construction experience, or renovation work is helpful. Frame carpentry or handyman experience is also useful.
- Bring practical skill with electrical work, electrical systems, hand tools, power tools, a voltmeter, and an ohmmeter.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
