Job Description
We’re looking for experienced, professional CDL A drivers that will share our commitment to our people, partners and planet. Traveling to locations on your assigned route, you will be responsible for packing, transporting and properly disposing of waste material in accordance with our environmentally responsible policies and procedures. This position requires 4-5 overnight stays per month (with paid hotel expenses and a nightly Per Diem).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations. Label containers and complete pre-printed manifests / work orders. Schedule shipments into or off site.
- Pickup and drop off loaded and empty roll off boxes using a tractor trailer
- Perform End Dump work as needed
- Perform van trailer work as needed
- Perform Tanker work as needed
- Performs warehouse work related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of waste materials. Loads, unloads, moves, or stores items according to delivery or routing documents, or supervisor instructions and performing general housekeeping duties.
- Operates a hand truck, forklift, or other heavy equipment.
- Performs various regulatory compliance and safety tasks including, but not limited to: Pre-trip inspections of vehicle, report all losses, spills, accidents, and safety violations to supervisor immediately. and resolve leaking containers/containers in non-DOT shippable condition.
- Contacts (Internal/External): Ongoing contact with all levels of Customers on a daily basis in delivering, promoting, and collecting waste containers. Regular contact with many different levels of personnel.
- Perform any other administrative duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
- Possess a Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- By law, you must be at least 21 years of age
- Hazmat Endorsement
- 2+ years of similar driving experience
- Must be able to drive a Manual Transmission (no restrictions)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Tanker and Airbrake Endorsements (If you do not have either endorsement you will be expected to obtain them at company's expense as a condition of employment)
The successful candidate will be required to pass a DOT physical, drug test and DEA background check.
