Field Representative Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field representative in New Jersey?
Most field representative roles in New Jersey require a bachelor's degree in a field aligned to the industry you want to enter, such as life sciences for pharmaceutical roles or finance for insurance positions. New Jersey does not issue a universal field representative license, but pharmaceutical representatives selling controlled substances may need to comply with New Jersey Board of Pharmacy employer registration requirements. Building experience in inside sales, territory coordination, or customer service at a New Jersey employer is the most common entry path.
Which companies hire field representatives in New Jersey?
Employers hiring field representatives in New Jersey right now include Grupo Bimbo, Jobot, and Instacart, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of Fortune 500 pharmaceutical, insurance, and utility headquarters means field representative hiring stays active year-round across multiple industry sectors.
Which New Jersey cities have the most field representative jobs?
Edison, Princeton, and Morristown account for the largest share of field representative openings in New Jersey. Newark drives volume through its financial services and insurance headquarters, while the Parsippany-Bridgewater corridor generates consistent pharmaceutical and life sciences postings, and Trenton draws openings tied to government-adjacent contractors and utility account teams serving the central region.
Are there remote field representative jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, but they're rare. Field representative work is defined by in-person client visits and territory management, so most roles require a physical presence in an assigned New Jersey geography. About 57% of field representative openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to be reporting, training, or account planning functions embedded in otherwise field-based positions.
How can I get hired as a field representative in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is an inside sales or sales associate role at a New Jersey-based employer, which typically feeds into field assignments after several months of proven performance. Large pharmaceutical companies with New Jersey campuses, such as those in the Parsippany and Bridgewater area, run associate field representative development programs designed for recent graduates. Completing a pharma sales certificate or obtaining a life sciences degree from a New Jersey university also strengthens an application when direct field experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to field representative jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to field representative jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state's major hiring markets. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and target territory, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
