Field Sales Consultant Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field sales consultant in Delaware?
Most field sales consultant roles in Delaware require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline and prior outside sales experience. The state does not issue a general field sales license, but consultants selling specific regulated products must hold relevant credentials, such as a Delaware-issued insurance producer license from the Delaware Department of Insurance for financial products or a manufacturer's registration for certain chemical or pharmaceutical lines. Building a portfolio of closed accounts and territory management results accelerates hiring at Delaware's corporate employers.
How much do field sales consultants make in Delaware?
Field sales consultants in Delaware earn a median of about $67,540 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $39,920 for the lowest 10% to over $121,530 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field sales consultants in Delaware?
Employers hiring field sales consultants in Delaware right now include AMETEK, ChristianaCare, and KBR, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's concentration of life sciences firms, specialty chemical companies, and regional banks means field sales roles here often sit at the intersection of technical product knowledge and relationship-driven territory management.
Which Delaware cities have the most field sales consultant jobs?
Newark, Wilmington, and Dover account for the majority of field sales consultant openings in Delaware. Wilmington drives the largest share because it hosts the state's densest cluster of corporate headquarters in financial services and life sciences, while Newark benefits from proximity to the University of Delaware's research corridor and suburban business parks, and Dover draws openings tied to state-government contractors and regional distribution operations.
Are there remote field sales consultant jobs in Delaware?
Yes, but they're rare. Field sales consultant work is inherently territory-based, requiring in-person client visits, product demonstrations, and relationship management, which limits full-remote arrangements. About 45% of field sales consultant openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to concentrate in inside-sales hybrid models or account management roles where part of the pipeline is handled digitally.
How can I get hired as a field sales consultant in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through inside sales or sales development representative roles at Delaware's pharmaceutical, financial services, or specialty chemical companies, where you build prospecting and CRM skills before moving into field coverage. Employers such as Incyte and WSFS Bank run structured associate programs that rotate candidates through product training before assigning territories. Completing a Delaware Department of Insurance producer license, even before you need it, signals initiative to hiring managers in financial product sales and gives you a concrete edge over candidates without it.
Where can I find and apply to field sales consultant jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to field sales consultant jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current Delaware openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find roles that match your experience and target industries, and apply directly to the ones that fit your background.
