Sales Representative Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales representative in Delaware?
Most sales representative roles in Delaware require a bachelor's degree and relevant industry experience rather than a state-issued license. Exceptions include pharmaceutical representatives who work with controlled substances, who may need DEA registration coordinated through their employer, and certain financial products representatives who must obtain FINRA licensing such as the Series 6 or Series 63 before selling securities. Hiring managers across Wilmington and Newark typically prioritize industry knowledge and a verifiable record of quota attainment.
Which companies hire sales representatives in Delaware?
Companies currently hiring sales representatives in Delaware include Power Home Remodeling, Hibu, and Hertrich Family of Automobile Dealerships, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's concentration of pharmaceutical, financial services, and specialty chemical firms means demand for both inside and field sales roles remains active throughout the year.
Which Delaware cities have the most sales representative jobs?
Wilmington, Newark, and New Castle lead Delaware for sales representative openings. Wilmington dominates because of its dense cluster of financial institutions, corporate headquarters, and life sciences firms, while Newark benefits from proximity to the University of Delaware research community and regional distribution operations, and Dover draws postings from state government contractors and healthcare organizations serving central Delaware.
Are there remote sales representative jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 39% of sales representative openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on phone, video, and email outreach rather than physical presence. Inside sales and SaaS account management positions are the most likely to be fully remote, while territory and pharmaceutical field roles typically require in-person client visits.
How can I get hired as a sales representative in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for sales development representative or business development associate roles at Delaware's larger financial and pharmaceutical employers, where structured onboarding programs are common. Companies such as DuPont and Incyte periodically hire for associate sales or rotational programs designed for recent graduates. Earning a FINRA Series 6 or Series 63 license before applying significantly strengthens a candidacy for financial products roles, and community college coursework in business or marketing at Delaware Technical Community College provides a practical credential for candidates without a four-year degree.
Where can I find and apply to sales representative jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to sales representative jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current Delaware openings across industries and experience levels. Search the listings to find roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit.
