Financial Consultant Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial consultant in Wisconsin?
The core path is earning a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or accounting, then passing the FINRA Series 65 or Series 7 exam to become a licensed investment adviser representative or registered representative in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions oversees investment adviser registration in the state. Many employers also expect or require a CFP credential for client-facing advisory roles, which demands additional coursework and examination.
Which companies hire financial consultants in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin financial consultant roles are posted by Wealthbridge Financial, Fidelity Investments, and Ryder System and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Wisconsin's deep roots in insurance and mutual-fund companies mean many openings come from firms headquartered here rather than regional branches of national firms.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most financial consultant jobs?
Howard, Allouez, and De Pere account for the largest share of financial consultant openings in Wisconsin. Milwaukee leads because it is home to several major financial services and insurance headquarters, Madison draws openings from state government finance roles and university-adjacent wealth management, and Green Bay's openings reflect a strong regional banking and insurance presence serving northeastern Wisconsin businesses and households.
Are there remote financial consultant jobs in Wisconsin?
Yes, and more than many financial roles, particularly for fee-only planners and analytical positions. About 100% of financial consultant openings tied to Wisconsin are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the industry's shift toward virtual client meetings. Client-facing relationship management and new business development roles are the most likely to require regular in-person presence in Wisconsin offices.
How can I get hired as a financial consultant in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a financial planning associate or paraplanner role at a Wisconsin-based firm, which lets you sit alongside licensed advisors before carrying your own book. Northwestern Mutual's Milwaukee-based new financial representative program and Johnson Financial Group's associate advisor track are well-known Wisconsin starting points. Earning the Series 65 before applying signals readiness, and any experience in banking, insurance, or accounting at Wisconsin regional institutions like Associated Bank or CUNA Mutual Group strengthens a junior application.
Where can I find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Wisconsin?
You can find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Wisconsin on Migrate Mate, which lists current Wisconsin openings across Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, and other markets in the state. Find roles that fit your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to each employer through the listing.
