Financial Planning Analyst Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial planning analyst in Colorado?
Start with a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related field, which is the standard entry point for Colorado employers. Financial planning analyst roles in Colorado do not require a state-issued license, but earning a CPA through the Colorado State Board of Accountancy, a CFA designation, or a CFP certification substantially strengthens your candidacy. Most Colorado employers expect familiarity with financial modeling and enterprise planning software from day one.
How much do financial planning analysts make in Colorado?
Financial planning analysts in Colorado earn a median of about $103,850 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $71,590 for the lowest 10% to over $171,570 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire financial planning analysts in Colorado?
Colorado financial planning analyst roles are posted by Trace3, Loenbro, and Riveron and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters, large healthcare systems, and defense and aerospace contractors creates consistent year-round demand for financial planning analysts across a range of industries.
Which Colorado cities have the most financial planning analyst jobs?
Denver, Lakewood, and Broomfield have the most financial planning analyst openings in Colorado. Denver leads because it serves as the state's corporate headquarters hub for finance, healthcare, and technology companies, while Boulder's concentration of high-growth tech and biotech firms and Colorado Springs' defense and government contractor base each generate their own sustained pipeline of openings.
Are there remote financial planning analyst jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 57% of financial planning analyst openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well the role's core work translates to distributed teams. Budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting functions are the most frequently offered in fully remote or hybrid arrangements, particularly at technology and financial services employers.
How can I get hired as a financial planning analyst in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a financial analyst or junior FP&A associate role at a large Colorado company that runs structured rotational or analyst development programs, such as the healthcare and financial services firms headquartered in the Denver metro. Adjacent roles in accounting, budget coordination, or financial operations at Colorado employers frequently serve as lateral moves into FP&A. Earning the CPA through the Colorado State Board of Accountancy or building a portfolio of financial models gives candidates a concrete edge when competing without direct FP&A experience.
Where can I find and apply to financial planning analyst jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to financial planning analyst jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings from employers actively hiring. Find the roles that match your experience and target locations and apply directly to the ones that fit.
