Full-stack Software Engineer Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a full-stack software engineer in Georgia?
Full-stack software engineer is not a state-licensed role in Georgia, so there is no board exam or registration required. Most Georgia employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, though strong candidates with bootcamp credentials and a solid portfolio are hired regularly. Building demonstrated experience with both front-end and back-end frameworks, contributing to public repositories, and targeting Georgia's large fintech and enterprise software employers are the most reliable paths into the field.
How much do Full-stack software engineers make in Georgia?
Full-stack software engineers in Georgia earn a median of about $131,010 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $80,110 for the lowest 10% to over $176,000 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire full-stack software engineers in Georgia?
Employers hiring full-stack software engineers in Georgia right now include Regions Financial, AIG, and VetsEZ, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's concentration of financial technology firms, logistics companies, and large enterprise technology campuses in the Atlanta metro makes it one of the more consistently active states for full-stack engineering roles year-round.
Which Georgia cities have the most full-stack software engineer jobs?
Atlanta, Georgia, and Duluth account for the largest share of full-stack software engineer openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates because it is home to the corporate or regional technology headquarters of major employers in fintech, telecommunications, and logistics, while Alpharetta's dense cluster of financial technology companies and Savannah's growing technology and port-logistics sector explain why those markets consistently generate openings as well.
Are there remote full-stack software engineer jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than most fields. Full-stack engineering is largely desk-based and well suited to remote work, and about 67% of full-stack software engineer openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. Back-end and API-focused roles tend to be the most consistently remote, while positions requiring close collaboration on design systems or embedded hardware integrations are more likely to require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a full-stack software engineer in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a junior or associate software engineer role at one of Georgia's large enterprise or fintech employers, many of which run structured new-graduate programs and rotational cohorts. Companies like NCR Voyix and Fiserv have historically onboarded early-career engineers through campus recruiting tied to Georgia Tech and Georgia State. Building a portfolio of deployed projects, contributing to open-source work, and earning a cloud certification such as AWS Certified Developer can move a candidate with no professional history to the front of applicant pools for these entry-level openings.
Where can I find and apply to full-stack software engineer jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to full-stack software engineer jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Find the roles that fit your experience and apply directly to the ones that match.
