Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Superintendent to lead and oversee large-scale construction projects from inception to completion. This pivotal role demands a proactive leader who can coordinate multiple teams, ensure adherence to safety standards, and deliver projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of construction management practices, technical expertise in reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings, and proficiency with industry-standard construction management software. As a key driver of project success, you will foster collaboration among subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to create a seamless workflow that meets high-quality standards.

Duties

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects, ensuring all phases align with project schedules and budgets.
• Supervise on-site construction activities, managing crews, subcontractors, and vendors to optimize productivity and safety.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and blueprints to ensure accurate implementation of design intent.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools; coordinate schedule updates regularly.
• Monitor construction safety compliance by enforcing OSHA regulations and federal safety standards across all job sites.
• Oversee quality control processes to ensure work meets contractual specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Manage project documentation including contracts, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), daily reports, and safety records using ProCore, Prolog or other construction management software.
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress, identify potential issues early, and implement corrective actions swiftly.
• Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders through managerial communication skills to keep everyone informed of project status and challenges.
• Ensure all construction activities adhere to environmental regulations and company policies while maintaining a focus on sustainable practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in heavy civil or commercial construction management with a strong background in supervising large teams on active sites.
• Extensive knowledge of construction regulations including OSHA standards and federal safety protocols related to construction sites.
• Proficiency with industry-standard construction management software such as ProCore, GCpay, Bluebeam, AGTEK, HeavyBid or equivalent tools.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics accurately.
• Strong project scheduling skills with experience using Primavera P6 or similar scheduling platforms; capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent crew management skills with the ability to motivate teams while maintaining high safety standards.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes and cost control measures for large-scale projects.
• Effective communication skills for managing subcontractors, clients, vendors, and internal teams efficiently.
• Construction site experience in commercial or infrastructure projects; knowledge of pipeline projects is a plus.
• Valid OHSA certification along with relevant safety training certifications; experience managing construction safety programs is preferred.
• Ability to interpret technical data using tools such as ohmmeters for electrical inspections when necessary.

Pay: $70,306.76 - $84,670.51 per year
