About This Role:
The Sourcing Manager for Distribution & Logistics within the Global Procurement team will play a pivotal role in managing a portfolio of sourcing and category related projects from inception to completion. This role requires collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders across the globe, contributing to the Category goals by supporting the Category Lead in defining and implementing Category Strategies. Your efforts will drive continuous improvements and lead global RFx processes from kick-off to final negotiations, including contract management responsibilities. This position is integral to enhancing Biogen’s Distribution and Logistics Services category, ensuring alignment with business priorities and delivering value through innovative solutions. Reporting to the Global Category Lead, you will be an essential part of the business structure, helping to scale global operations and fuel commercial growth.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage subcategories within Biogen’s Distribution and Logistics category on global and/or regional level.
- Develop and implement sub-category strategies for transportation, distribution, warehousing, and related services.
- Support globalization and standardization of processes to enhance efficiency and savings.
- Guide cross-functional teams using analytics, market research, and cost modeling to identify high-value opportunities.
- Build partnerships with stakeholders to facilitate business value realization and savings.
- Continuously update and improve category strategies based on evolving business needs.
- Monitor market conditions to understand leading practices and changes.
- Develop and implement sourcing, negotiating, and contracting strategies that meet category goals.
- Champion supplier diversity and sustainability requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring oversight, direction, and development based on defined criteria.
- Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to understand business needs and priorities.

Required Skills:
- At least 5 years of experience in a logistics environment.
- Experience in procurement/category management or related fields.
- Strong understanding of the US logistics market, including Air, Road, 3PL, Warehousing, Ocean, and Courier Services.
- Experience in contract negotiation and commercial terms.
- Advanced analytical skills and cost driver modeling expertise.
- Strong commercial judgment and ability to balance and improve cost, service, reliability, and risk.
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to build effective relationships.
- Effective communicator and influencer with motivational skills.
- Ability to navigate change and ambiguity.
- Strong project management skills and multitasking ability.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the global logistics market.
- Background in the pharma/biotech industry.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.

Additional Information
The base compensation range for this role is: $103,000.00-$138,000.00
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
