Position Overview
As the Head of Sales you will drive the strategic vision and execution of sales initiatives within the organization. You will work directly with sellers to strengthen how we sell by fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, represent accesso effectively in the marketplace, and build a team where reps are well hired, well onboarded, and set up to succeed. This role owns day-to-day sales execution and pipeline performance across the sales organization. As a member of our Commercial team, you'll have a hand in promoting our products to a wide range of clients and will help us to achieve our goals of scaling and expanding. You will be responsible for new business growth and for building the operating discipline that makes results repeatable, rather than dependent on any one person's instincts. Your natural ability to build relationships, as well as an eye for opportunity, will be vital in our efforts to expand our company’s reach. We’re looking for team-oriented, creative thinkers that are excited by finding innovative solutions to drive our business forward ⏩.

Tips for Your Head Of Sales Job Search
Quantify revenue impact on your resume
Hiring managers for head of sales roles want numbers, not narratives. Replace phrases like 'grew the team' with specific pipeline figures, quota attainment percentages, and year-over-year revenue growth your leadership directly produced.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists head of sales openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Tailor your resume to the sales motion
Enterprise, SMB, and channel sales roles require different proof points. A head of sales resume for an enterprise SaaS company should emphasize ACV, deal cycle length, and multi-stakeholder selling, not volume metrics that signal transactional sales.
Signal your hiring and retention record
Employers hiring a head of sales want a leader who can build and keep a team. Call out how many reps you have hired, your team's average tenure, and any improvements you made to onboarding or ramp time for new sellers.
Prepare a 30-60-90 day sales plan
Most head of sales interviews include a case study or presentation round. Coming in with a concrete plan covering territory assessment, pipeline review, and early wins signals operational readiness and separates you from candidates who only discuss strategy.
Negotiate using total comp, not base alone
Head of sales offers vary widely in how OTE is structured, with commissions, accelerators, and equity carrying significant weight. Understand your target OTE split and ask specifically how quota is set before evaluating or accepting any offer.
Head Of Sales Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most head of saless?
State Street, Amazon, and TikTok are hiring the most head of saless right now, with openings concentrated in California, New York, and Massachusetts, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Industry sectors with the most active hiring include SaaS, healthcare services, and financial technology.
How many head of sales jobs are remote?
About 72% of head of sales openings are fully remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the seniority and strategic scope of the role. Sub-areas most likely to be remote include revenue operations leadership and national account management, while field sales leadership roles tend to require a physical presence in a defined territory.
How do you become a head of sales?
Most heads of sales reach the role by first excelling as an individual contributor, then moving into a sales manager or director position where they demonstrate they can develop other sellers and own a team number. Building experience across the full revenue cycle, including pipeline generation, forecasting, and cross-functional collaboration with marketing and product, accelerates the path to a leadership seat.
Can you get hired as a head of sales with limited leadership experience?
It is possible to land a head of sales role at a smaller company or early-stage startup without extensive formal management history if you can show informal leadership, such as mentoring junior reps, leading deal reviews, or building out sales processes in a previous role. Framing individual contributor achievements in terms of team-wide impact and being transparent about your leadership trajectory gives your application the best chance at growth-stage companies with open roles.
What does the head of sales interview process look like?
Head of sales interviews typically involve an initial screen with a recruiter or HR contact, followed by conversations with a VP of sales or CEO to assess strategic fit and leadership philosophy. Most processes include a case study or presentation round where you walk through how you would approach the first few months in the role, and final rounds often include meetings with peers in marketing, finance, or operations who the head of sales will work alongside.
Where can I find and apply to head of sales jobs?
You can find and apply to head of sales jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Find roles that match your experience and preferred industry, then apply directly to each listing.
