Head Of Sales Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a head of sales in Washington?
Most head of sales roles in Washington require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a closely related field, combined with a progressive sales career that includes time managing and developing a team. Washington does not issue a state license for sales leadership, so hiring decisions hinge on a verifiable record of building pipeline, closing enterprise deals, and growing revenue. Companies in Seattle and Bellevue especially prize experience inside the technology or SaaS verticals when filling these positions.
How much do head of saleses make in Washington?
Head of saleses in Washington earn a median of about $174,000 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $104,000 for the lowest 10% to over $291,620 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire head of saless in Washington?
Employers hiring head of saless in Washington right now include TikTok, Amazon, and University Of Washington, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Washington's dense concentration of technology headquarters and cloud-platform companies means head of sales roles here frequently carry responsibility for large enterprise portfolios and cross-functional go-to-market teams.
Which Washington cities have the most head of sales jobs?
Seattle, Bellevue, and Olympia account for the largest share of head of sales openings in Washington. Seattle and Bellevue together concentrate the majority of roles because of the region's headquarters density in cloud computing, enterprise software, and healthcare technology, while Redmond draws additional demand from large established campuses with global sales organizations.
Are there remote head of sales jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most fields. Sales leadership translates well to distributed environments because much of the work involves video calls, CRM management, and digital collaboration rather than daily on-site presence. About 44% of head of sales openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the technology sector's comfort with flexible arrangements. Strategic account oversight and team coaching are the functions most commonly performed remotely in these roles.
How can I get hired as a head of sales in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a team-lead or senior account executive role first, then stepping into a head of sales position once you have demonstrated people management experience. Large Washington technology employers and mid-market SaaS companies in Seattle and Bellevue regularly promote from within, so applying as a senior individual contributor and expressing interest in leadership rotations is a concrete strategy. Building experience with enterprise sales methodology training programs and earning a credential such as the Certified Sales Leadership Professional designation can strengthen a candidacy before a formal promotion.
Where can I find and apply to head of sales jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to head of sales jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current Washington openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and target industry, and apply directly to each one that fits.
