Cross-Functional Partnership:
- Partner with Product, Marketing, and Sales Ops to influence roadmap priorities, launch new products, and sharpen Nextdoor's Mid West market positioning
- Feed customer and competitive insights into the company's planning process — your region will be a signal for the business
- Collaborate with the Head of West Coast and East Coast Sales to ensure cohesive national strategy and shared best practices

- Model and reinforce Nextdoor's KIND culture — in how you lead your team, engage with clients, and show up in the business
- Participate in in-person events, off-sites, and community initiatives that reflect our mission
- Build in-person relationships with team members and contribute to Nextdoor's company culture
What You'll Bring To The Team
- 15+ years of experience in digital media or advertising sales, with a consistent record of exceeding targets in high-growth environments, and/or the ability to perform at an advanced level in the domain
- 6+ years of sales leadership experience, including managing managers
- Proven track record building and scaling regional or national sales teams from the ground up or through a period of significant growth
- Deep relationships across the Mid West brand and agency ecosystem
- Strategic thinker who can connect customer needs to product solutions and translate that into a winning go-to-market plan
- Executive presence and communication skills — comfortable in the boardroom with a CMO or on a whiteboard with your team
- Strong analytical orientation; you use data to diagnose problems, forecast accurately, and coach effectively
- Genuine passion for local community and belief in Nextdoor's mission
- Eagerness to explore and apply AI and emerging technologies to reimagine how work gets done

Most heads of sales in Texas reach the role after progressing through individual contributor and frontline management positions in industries like technology, energy, or healthcare. There is no state-issued license required in Texas, so employers focus on demonstrated revenue leadership and industry expertise. A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is the standard baseline, and an MBA can strengthen candidacy for roles at larger Texas-headquartered organizations.
How much do head of saleses make in Texas?
Head of saleses in Texas earn a median of about $136,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $68,750 for the lowest 10% to over $268,450 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire head of saless in Texas?
Employers hiring head of saless in Texas right now include Wise, DNV, and Goldman Sachs, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major energy firms, and fast-growing SaaS companies means demand for sales leadership is broadly distributed across both established corporations and high-growth employers.
Which Texas cities have the most head of sales jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Dallas County have the most head of sales openings in Texas. Dallas and Houston anchor the market thanks to their density of corporate headquarters in technology, financial services, and energy, while Austin's expanding tech and SaaS ecosystem has made it a consistent source of senior sales leadership roles for growth-stage and enterprise companies alike.
Are there remote head of sales jobs in Texas?
Yes, and they're more common than in most senior roles, since heads of sales often manage distributed teams and travel to clients rather than work from a fixed office. About 56% of head of sales openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with fully remote arrangements most common in SaaS, fintech, and enterprise software companies headquartered in the state.
How can I get hired as a head of sales in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a high-performing individual contributor role, such as senior account executive or enterprise account manager, into a player-coach or first-line manager position at a Texas employer. Large Texas-based technology and energy companies regularly promote from within, so excelling in a quota-carrying role and volunteering to mentor junior reps builds the visible leadership record hiring managers look for when filling a head of sales seat.
