Head Of Sales Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a head of sales in Pennsylvania?
Most heads of sales in Pennsylvania reach the role after years of progressive sales experience, typically starting in individual contributor roles before moving into team leadership. Pennsylvania does not require a state-issued license or certification specifically for sales leadership. Employers here generally expect a bachelor's degree and a history of managing full sales cycles, often in the same industry vertical they are hiring for, whether that is financial services, healthcare technology, or manufacturing.
How much do head of saleses make in Pennsylvania?
Head of saleses in Pennsylvania earn a median of about $130,610 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $71,500 for the lowest 10% to over $239,470 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire head of saless in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring head of saless in Pennsylvania right now include Janney Montgomery Scott, m3usa, and Sanofi, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Pennsylvania's concentration of Fortune 500 firms, regional insurance companies, and growing SaaS businesses in the Philadelphia corridor means a steady pipeline of senior sales leadership openings throughout the year.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most head of sales jobs?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Malvern account for the most head of sales openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia drives the largest share thanks to its dense cluster of financial services firms, healthcare systems, and technology companies, while Pittsburgh's resurgence in robotics, life sciences, and professional services has made it a growing source of senior sales leadership roles, and Allentown benefits from its position as a regional hub for logistics, manufacturing, and distribution employers.
Are there remote head of sales jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and they are more common than in many fields, since sales leadership is largely a desk-and-call function that translates well to distributed work. About 52% of head of sales openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting broad employer acceptance of flexible arrangements for this level. Strategy, pipeline oversight, and team coaching are the functions most likely to be performed fully remotely, while enterprise relationship management and new market development often still require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a head of sales in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a sales team lead or senior account executive role first, then building toward a management title. Large Pennsylvania employers like Comcast, Aramark, and Lincoln Financial Group regularly hire sales development representatives and account managers who are then considered for internal leadership programs. Completing a recognized sales leadership certification and demonstrating consistent quota performance in an adjacent role, such as regional account manager or inside sales supervisor, strengthens a candidacy considerably before targeting head of sales titles.
