Healthcare Operations Manager Jobs in Montana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a healthcare operations manager in Montana?
Most Montana employers require a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a clinical field, and many prefer a master's degree for director-level roles. There is no single state-issued license for healthcare operations managers in Montana, but facilities regulated by the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services expect familiarity with state licensing and survey requirements. Relevant certifications such as the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives strengthen candidacy significantly.
Which companies hire healthcare operations managers in Montana?
Companies currently hiring healthcare operations managers in Montana include Jobot, Cushing Terrell, and ROI AGENCY, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Montana's mix of large regional health systems, federally operated Indian Health Service facilities, and rural critical access hospitals creates consistent administrative leadership demand across the state.
Which Montana cities have the most healthcare operations manager jobs?
Billings, Helena, and Bozeman account for the largest share of healthcare operations manager openings in Montana. Billings leads as the state's most populous city and home to its largest regional medical center, while Missoula's concentration of university-affiliated and community health organizations and Great Falls' cluster of regional hospital and VA facilities drive consistent hiring in those markets.
Are there remote healthcare operations manager jobs in Montana?
Yes, but they're rare. About 14% of healthcare operations manager openings tied to Montana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting that most of the role requires on-site leadership of staff, facility operations, and patient-facing workflows. The functions most likely to support remote or hybrid arrangements are revenue cycle management, compliance reporting, and health informatics coordination.
How can I get hired as a healthcare operations manager in Montana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to move into a healthcare operations manager role from an adjacent administrative or clinical position such as a practice coordinator, patient services supervisor, or department lead at a Montana hospital or health system. Large employers like Billings Clinic and Providence Health offer internal advancement pathways and sometimes post associate or coordinator-level operations roles that serve as direct stepping stones. Completing a master's in healthcare administration or earning a relevant professional certification accelerates the transition from support roles into management.
Where can I find and apply to healthcare operations manager jobs in Montana?
