The Family Justice Center of Georgetown and Horry Counties is seeking a Part-Time HR Specialist to support critical HR operations within a confidential, trauma-informed environment. This position plays a key role in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and employee support while helping maintain a positive and mission-driven workplace.
Responsibilities Include
· Manage recruitment processes including job postings, applicant screening, and interview coordination.
· Support onboarding, background checks, and new hire documentation.
· Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes and ensure all required personnel documentation is completed and maintained.
· Maintain employee records, personnel files, HR information systems, and compliance documentation while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
· Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and workplace concerns.
· Assist with benefits administration and leave tracking.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational HR policies, employment laws, and personnel requirements.
· Monitor employee certifications, trainings, background checks, and required personnel documentation for compliance purposes.
· Assist with payroll, timekeeping, and reporting functions.
· Maintain employee handbook, HR policies, personnel forms, and related documentation.
· Coordinate employee performance review processes and assist supervisors with personnel documentation.
· Promote a positive, trauma-informed workplace environment.
· Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and organizational information.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· 3+ years of human resources experience, preferably in nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, social service, or human services settings.
· Knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
· Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
· Experience with payroll, benefits administration, employee records management, and HR compliance preferred.
Part-time (3 days per week, on-site)
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
