General Summary
A lead technical resource who, utilizing their previous human resources expertise, partners with HR and IT areas, and their customers, to optimize, support and maintain HR systems. Analyzes process design and data flow and recommends improvement by leveraging technological capabilities. Serves as a technical point-of-contact for the assigned functional area and is responsible for the build, configuration, testing and support of HR data processes within the assigned HCM ERP module(s) and/or HRIS applications. Assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity and serves as technical lead and business intermediary for HCM ERP system upgrades and patches, new functionality implementations, testing and other technical projects as assigned. Contributes to project plans, ensures adherence to project schedules and works effectively with peers to set technology priorities and conduct long-term planning. Serves as the third tier of technical support for the HR Service Center. Functional Area of Responsibility may include Absence, Benefits, TA, Compensation, Talent, HR Operations, Project Management/Testing Coordinator, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Acts as HR Technology subject matter expert working with various departments to understand business requirements. Configures and tests the various system solutions to best meet the organization's needs while leveraging technology to be more efficient, accurate, and customer oriented.
- Designs, configures, and implements enterprise applications, ensuring that software solutions are designed and developed to perform as intended and are implemented according to user requirements.
- Performs system maintenance, including assisting in the review, testing and implementation of HCM ERP system upgrades or patches. Collaborates with functional and technical staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix. Maintains HCM ERP system tables and configurations.
- Develops design documents, functional specifications, test scripts, supports data migration, and assists in issue resolution and risk mitigation for projects.
- Provides production support, including researching and resolving HCM ERP problems, unexpected results or process flaws, performing scheduled activities, and recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
- Generates reports/queries, including writing, maintaining and supporting a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assists in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs. Helps maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.
- Uses a deep understanding of the business processes and technology to help business partners identify improvement opportunities and complete various initiatives.
- Utilizes analytical skills to introduce and incorporate process and change management into business matters with the desired result of creating efficiencies and improving work practices. Critically thinks through upstream/downstream impacts due to change and mitigates negative outcomes.
- Creates and manages end-to-end process mapping, user stories, and test cases.
- Supports the HR Technology team in managing the day-to-day activities to support the HCM ERP and other inter-related functions, providing guidance to the junior staff members.

- Able to formulate a sound decision using the available information and makes decisions independently and quickly if needed. Handles sensitive employment information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Able to find common ground between conflicting viewpoints; demonstrates patience and flexibility.
- Focused on continuous process improvement, while appreciating the implications of change on end users, as well internal teams.
- Able to take responsibility for own work, establish trust, and be receptive to feedback.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Maintains awareness of current trends in the industry with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies. Through classes, reading, CBTs or other mechanisms, continuously increases both HR knowledge and HR technology applications/tools knowledge.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Bachelors Degree HR Management, Business, Information Technology, or related field. Preferred
Work Experience:
- 4 years Experience with large-scale HCM ERP solutions, data management, configuration and/or reporting/analytics within HCM ERP application. Required
- 4 years Experience working with or designing HR information systems/HR business processes. Required
- Experience in HR functions, core business processes and best practices. Required
- HRIS, HR, Information Technology, or Business Administration experience. Required
- Experience with Oracle, Lawson or Workday. Preferred
