Human Resources Assistant Jobs in San Diego, CA

As the HR Manager at Regiment Security Partners, for the Allstate Security Services operations based in San Diego, you will serve as a key member of the HR team in California. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to the Regional Managers. You will drive operational excellence through strategic leadership at your site(s), turn organizational priorities into clear, actionable plans, use technology and data to inform smarter decisions, support a broad range of HR functions tailored to California and local regulations.

Scope of the HR Manager

Risk Management & Workplace Safety

• Manage workers' compensation — TPA responses and workers' comp KPI tracking.
• Own FMLA eligibility determinations, designation notices, and leave-of-absence compliance — including the entitlement clock and return-to-work — in partnership with Anaya (HR Operations Specialist), who serves as the employee point of contact and handles the New York state claims (PFL and disability).
• Track ADA and reasonable-accommodation requests through to resolution.
• Coordinate incident and near-miss reporting, and manage the return-to-work program.
• Own OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.

Compliance, Policy & Investigations

• Conduct HR audits and recommend policy reviews and updates.
• Handle termination letters and conduct exit interviews.
• Document and track progressive discipline.
• Coordinate anti-harassment and workplace conduct training.
• Maintain the grievance and complaint log.

Compensation

• Maintain job descriptions and manage job codes.
• Review salary bands and market data to keep pay competitive and equitable.

California Final Pay Compliance

• Own and maintain the California final check spreadsheet, keeping it current and accurate for every separation.
• Ensure final check data is relayed to Payroll completely and accurately, and monitor timeline adherence so final pay is issued within California’s required windows.
• Hold penalty fees paid to under 5% of applicable final checks (KPI), tracking and reporting exposure over time.

Employee Relations & Performance

• Coordinate and track the performance review cycle.
• Administer the employee recognition program.
• Coordinate stay interviews.
• Provide manager coaching and HR business partner support across the business.

HR Reporting & Shared Services

• Deliver HR reporting and respond to ad hoc data requests.
