Insurance Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an insurance job in Jacksonville?
Focus on employers concentrated along the Southside corridor and Deerwood Park, where regional carriers, independent agencies, and large third-party administrators cluster. Jacksonville's port-adjacent commercial base drives demand for commercial lines and risk roles, while its large healthcare and financial services sectors fuel life, health, and benefits positions. Candidates with P&C or health insurance experience and any Florida-relevant designations like the 2-20 or 2-15 license tend to move faster through local hiring pipelines.
Which companies hire insurance professionals in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville insurance roles are posted by UF Health, Citizens Property Insurance, and RSM and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market includes a mix of national carriers with regional offices, independent brokerages, and self-insured employers in healthcare and logistics managing their own risk and benefits functions.
Are there remote insurance jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, but it depends heavily on the role: field underwriting, in-person claims adjusting, and agency sales are rarely remote, while policy servicing, analyst, and back-office roles often are. About 75% of insurance openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of many carrier and TPA operations here. Claims processing, billing, and commercial lines support tend to be the most remote-eligible functions among Jacksonville postings.
How can I get an insurance job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is through customer service or claims support roles at the large third-party administrators and regional carriers based on the Southside, many of which hire and train entry-level candidates. Independent agencies throughout the Beaches and Riverside neighborhoods also bring on unlicensed assistants and front-office staff who can sit for the Florida 4-40 customer representative exam on the job. Familiarity with basic policy or billing systems and a willingness to obtain a Florida insurance license are the two factors that most consistently set entry-level applicants apart locally.
Which industries hire the most insurance professionals in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville insurance roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Jacksonville's position as a regional logistics and financial services hub, combined with one of Florida's largest healthcare employer bases, sustains consistent demand for both commercial and personal lines professionals across those sectors.
