Internship Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a internship in Florida?
Securing an internship in Florida typically starts with enrolling in an accredited degree program, since most Florida employers require current student status for formal internship positions. Many Florida universities, including state schools in the University of Florida and Florida State University systems, have dedicated career centers and employer partnerships that post internship openings directly to enrolled students. Applying early in the academic year and targeting structured programs at large Florida employers gives candidates the strongest access to competitive placements.
Which companies hire internships in Florida?
Florida internship roles are posted by Northwestern Mutual, ECS Limited, and Navy Federal Credit Union and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's mix of large corporate headquarters, defense contractors, health systems, and hospitality companies creates a wide variety of internship programs across industries and functional areas.
Which Florida cities have the most internship jobs?
Tampa, Jacksonville, and Miami have the most internship openings in Florida. Miami drives demand through its finance, international business, and technology sectors, Orlando is anchored by hospitality, healthcare, and simulation technology employers, and Tampa's growing base of financial services firms, defense contractors, and health systems generates strong internship volume outside the largest metros.
Are there remote internship jobs in Florida?
Yes, and they are more common than in many fields, particularly for business, marketing, software development, and data analytics internships. About 25% of internship openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of many program types. Technology, finance, and marketing internships account for the largest share of fully remote Florida placements.
How can I get hired as a internship in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to structured internship programs at large Florida employers, which are designed specifically for candidates without prior professional experience. Anchor institutions like AdventHealth, Lockheed Martin, and major Florida university systems run formal programs that accept students based on coursework and GPA rather than a work history. Building a portfolio of class projects relevant to your field and completing any Florida-based volunteer or campus leadership roles strengthens applications considerably before your first professional position.
Where can I find and apply to internship jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to internship jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your field of study, preferred city, and availability, then apply directly to the ones that fit your background and goals.
