Expected pay for this position is $29.30 - $34.47/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.
Position Summary:
Responsible for managing daily operations of Laboratory, Phlebotomy and EKG services. Develops, implements, and ensures adherence to policies and procedures in order to ensure compliance with OSF and third-party requirements. Manages financial, capital, and human resources to ensure services meet established quality and productivity standards and takes corrective action as necessary. Moves department forward through process improvement activities while maintaining culture, focusing on strategic initiatives and departmental best practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Associate degree in laboratory science, Biology, or Chemistry field with 1 year of work experience in a healthcare setting OR Associate degree in any field with 2 years' work experience in a laboratory, healthcare, or leadership role. OR Highschool Diploma/ GED with Phlebotomy Certification
Experience:
- 1 year healthcare experience
Other skills/knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical/medical laboratory science. American Society for Clinical Pathology - Medical Laboratory Scientist or AMT - Medical Technologist.
Experience:
- 2 years' experience in a supervisor/leadership role, including coaching/mentoring competencies.
- Experience leading to competency in project management, performance improvement, and quantitative analysis.
- Ability to develop and sustain strong staff and interdepartmental relationships.
Licensure/ Certification:
- Phlebotomy Certification
